This is true. I hope the cynics will be quietened. A lot of people will be comparing Bane to the Joker.

Well he's such an unknown to the GA they will be in for a treat though, it seems like he has one hell of a role in it.

The hype has not been extremely negative, it's just been really not much. It's impossible to get the hype of the Joker because he's such an iconic figure. But most of the hype has been good since the prologue, as for size and so forth, that has been the small minority of fans.

I have a feeling people will love Bane after seeing TDKR, I think he will get a new bump in popularity after this interpretation of him.

Let them... I wont be suprised if they like Bane a little more than TDK's Joker after this.

Although I wouldnt really compare, I can tell that we are getting more Bane presence and screen time than we did with Joker. I think that will help Banes stock rise in the popular dept.

How can you tell that? He's been featured less in the trailers than Joker was in TDK's ones.

Personally I think it's great if we'd get a villain that is just outright hated.

A heel for the babyface to finally defeat (some inside pro-wrestling terminology). Instead of a "cool heel" (The Joker).

Darth Vader was a good heel until ROTJ and then showing his childhood as Anakin was just a poor decision.

Well now most seem to love the voice it seems, at first there was hesitation but not anymore. But the things you mentioned like the size and so forth is more of the small group of fans that want it more comic accurate, which there is always complaints of not being like the comics in every adaptation of this nature. I'm talking the GA, and most have no idea who Bane is, this is in some ways their first taste of him. (unless they saw his monkey business in B&R lol)
