the 89th Annual Academy Awards - Part 1

Emma Stone's reaction was priceless. She mouthed 'Oh My god' twice with a look of horror on her face.

I'm surrpised, the bulk of Oscar nominated movies rarely seem to be huge hits, or are you just talking in context of what they are?
Oscar nominated movies see a boost. What they are does matter. So a popular musical with legit stars will definitely do better then another flick. But something that would have made like a few million, suddenly makes 20m. La La Land making nearly 400m WW is crazy. But not when you consider its strong hold during the awards seasons.

Oh boy, turns out there was another big error. One of the photos used in the In Memoriam segment was of the wrong person.

Stone says she had the Best Actress card when they announced Best Picture.

I was rooting for Moonlight so I'm happy it won. It's just a really weird awkward situation.I should've known something was off when they were reluctant to read the envelope.

Sara Bareilles did the In Memoriam? I might have to watch it then.

That is his fault then.
It also has the award category at the bottom of the card itself.

It literally would have read:

Emma Stone

La La Land

Best Actress in a Leading Role

So unless Beatty decided not to read anything but the title of the movie, lol.

I know. But apparently he didn't read it out loud. But he had the damn answer written everywhere. :lmao:

Ouch. Okay yeah, he clearly knew it was wrong and just decided to take a crack at it and hope for the best anyway.
