BvS The Alfred Pennyworth Casting Thread

I'd be open to a 'stached Alfred. He can use it as a utility 'stache.

I just keep imagining Rickman making smartass comments with his dry delivery and I start laughing.

The only potential problem I'd have with Rickman is that I'm not sure how he'd do the softer side.

That's a good point . I would like to see him try the softer more tender moments though.

I'm sure he could pull it off, he's an amazing actor. I just have a hard time imagining it, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

That slow mundane voice goes against him for a potential softer side.

Now that would work :up::D

The thing I always do is, I always imagine an actor who would be a man who would sacrifice his life to raise a deeply disturbed child. Who ends up going cynical in his older age :hehe:

Rickman isn't someone I can imagine doing that.

Pierce Brosnan fits that image in my head, because he works well with children in films, giving him a great and very believable fatherly quality. And we know he's good at being sarcy :p

I mostly agree with your assessment on Rickman, that's why I have a hard time imagining him as Alfred. Although I'm not gonna complain if he gets it.

Pierce Brosnan Is great but it'd almost feel like two Batmen sharing the screen together. I mean Alfred might be cooler than Bruce.

So, Batman Earth 1.:oldrazz:

Imagine, we have enough people blaming the filmmakers for villains stealing the spotlight from Batman, imagine Alfred joining in that trend!

I mean nothing against Ben but Pierce beats him on the cool factor. That guy is smooth.

He's 60 and working out on the beach with his dog nearby. ..he does beat Ben in being cool :D

How about Timothy Dalton as Alfred? He kind of looks like the mainstream version of the character. In his younger days, he bore a close resemblance to Bruce Wayne as well.

Yes, there was a rumour about him a couple days ago. I'd love him as Alfred. Sam Neill is my eternal pick, though.

If Bruce get teh Scruffy, then Alfred should have the 'stache, finally.

Ah, reminds of the era on television where only opposites could solve crimes. :awesome:

Dalton has that gentle vibe to him. I can see him make a good father like figure within the film. And he has this old gentleman quality as well, which I think makes him very believable if he called Ben Affleck "Master Bruce"

Dalton is definitely a top choice of mine. Probably because he's probably my favorite James Bond. :p
