They don't need a long-lost best buddy plotline. There's plenty already.

If he is the 616 version and he's CGI they are just lazy...

Based on stuff we've heard about Electro's final look...

"so spoiler alert-his costume is a plain black skin tight suit. nothing special. BUT THEN THE PICTURE OF WHAT HIS FACE WILL LOOK LIKE MY JESUS. it was like he had a thick collar around his neck and from the neck up his face was icy/electric blue. insanity. it looked AMAZING."

That's from that from someone who saw production art a while back, another person recently gave a description that sounded similar to that too. Both mentioned padding/a collar around his neck.

Maybe Electro steals a Ravencroft guard's or something? I doubt Max is just going to head home and ask his mum to make him a suit after his accident. :funny:

Good theory, but Foxx already spoiled the costume and it's origin. He said something to the effect of it having bolts all over it because he's hung by them while being "studied". Sounds like it's a sort of containment suit that he's put in (by Oscorp?)/

No need to. If they'd go this route, I'd be happy!

Spider‐Man needs a cool looking Goblin. And I swear I hope they don't go the hulk-out Ultimate lookin Goblin.

I must say, I've seen this video a couple of times now but I still have no idea what it's supposed to represent. Is it a mask a mutation. If it's a mask how would you explain it on film ?

Don't get me wrong, i think it looks good, I just don't get it.

it will probably be done with motion capture, cgi with the actor face visually but green, they are doing it in loads of movies these days

and in many ways Raimi did the masked goblin (just a power ranger reject version), so i'm willing to bet webb goes for the transformation goblin

No way. I don't remember reading that anywhere. Would you have the source by any chance?
That sounds brutal.

i don't remember that either

all i remember is Foxx saying

"[He's a] genius electrician-type person," Foxx says, "and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world... [T]he next thing you know, he turns it on."

which sounds like Foxx is saying he becomes electro by his own means or accident

He becomes Electro by accident, but Vid Electricz makes an interesting point about him being tested.

I remember that quote and I initially thought he meant them testing out designs for the film but he could've been referring to tests Max undergoes after his accident.

Boom.

However, while Electro is known for wearing a green and yellow lightning-themed costume, Foxx told BlackFilm "it will be a different color," adding: "[The producers] want something for the future. They want to have it more grounded and not as comic book-y, so it won't be green and yellow. They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what happened. How did he become this way? So, it will be some new stuff."

Thank heavens for you pointing this out.

And thank heavens for Jamie spilling some of the details for Electro

Ah! It did sound a tad bit familiar. It's so vague though. Who's got him upside down? Maybe bolts don't mean lightning bolts.
Why would there be bolts when he's hung upside down?

Haha looks his second time being upside down ;]

sounds like maybe something that happens after he becomes electro, either that or just means filming techniques

when he says "they are all these bolts and stuff on my arms", he more than likely means there are bolts of electricity coming off of him.

and the stuff on his arms are electrodes and such being used to measure the electricity he's generating as well as his vitals.

Foxx spills more beans than a clumsy golden retriever working at a Bush's baked bean factory.

Why? it's not like the writers had it planned out or anything. They just decided they wanted to introduce the character in TASM2 and went with the contrived "old best buddies from the past" route.

We don't know if they're "old best buddies". The only thing the synopsis states is that Harry is an "old friend", which could involve many scenarios. It could mean that Peter and Harry were friends (perhaps not even best friends) before Peter was swept away from his upper class life to a more modest working class one. Contrived? yes maybe, we don't know how it'll be handled, but it's not as much an act of sin as you seem to be making it.

You'd think so. You'd think names like "Oscorp" and "Norman Osborn" would ring a bell in Peter's head.

Peter was left with Uncle Ben and Aunt May at age 4. After his parents died it would seem logical that all relationship and contact (or whatever relationship a 4 year old would have at all) with Oscorp would have been gone or deliberately kept from him. I also doubt Ben and May knew much if anything about Oscorp and what Richard did there. If that were the case, I'd doubt any 4 year old would be aware of their father's boss's name or their company name, so it why would even be a concern 13-14 years later?

Anyone think it's too soon for Spider-Man to become 'famous'. I mean he had only just become Spider-Man in the first movie. It wasn't like the Raimi origin where he was already established in the first movie. He is yet to be established. He is so far only known as a 'masked vigilante.' Which is why, if everyone is now in love and praise of Spider-Man (most of all Max Dillon), it might seem like a bit of a leap from the first movie.

Well that could easily be explained by there being a time gap between the two :P

Also Edgar Wright on set of TASM2? Right on!

Wait....

Ant Man/Spider Man connection! Welcome to the MCU Spidey!
