That suit is a thing of beauty. I'm in the minority that calls this suit my favorite of all the on-screen interpretations thus far. So much so that I was a little disappointed when I first saw the reveal of the TASM 2 suit and realized that they were going back to a more classic look. I got over it obviously and came to love the new suit, but this one looked great imo. Different but not too different, same but not the same. The fabric and colors really made it stand out on screen, especially in that nighttime NYC lighting.

My biggest issue with the TASM1 suit is the yellow eyes. Otherwise I thought it was fine. The silver on the boots was barely visible throughout most of the film.

I liked the yellow eyes personally, but I can see why others wouldn't.

I felt that they really got Spider-Man's physicality right in TASM... but as with most things, they tossed it to one side for TASM 2.

I liked the scene where Spider-Man was swinging away from the cops. I could almost imagine Spider-Man swinging like that in real life (if he would ever really exist).

I like how the last suit was a little baggy, and we see the wind play on it during the free fall.

Despite my dissatisfaction with the series, I definitely appreciated some of the effects (with the exception of some moments where I felt like CGI was relied on too much).

If I ever go back to watch TASM2, it's for the opening scene.

I don't understand why people would want the TASM1 material on the TASM2 suit... I guess the colors would look ok, but not that basketball crud. The TASM1 suit was good because it's supposed to made by some t***; doing that on a more iconic suit will just make it look ugly.

Who came up with using Ultimate Electro, because he looked like a cartoon, and not giving him any character development also made him look ridiculous.

The opening scene is the parents in the plane.
Fast forward 7 minutes in to watch the first Spidey scene.

Sony? Marc Webb? Avi?
Maybe not Marc, if all he did was say "ok, let's do it" to every suggestion given to him.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. It felt like they threw almost all of Peter's complexity in favour of appeasing the fans who whined about it being different to the Raimi series. In the first movie it felt like Andrew was playing Peter Parker, whereas in the second movie he just felt like Andrew Garfield to me.

I really wish that Webb had stuck to his original vision for his Spider-man rather than bending to all the people who's main gripe with the movie was "rebooting too fast" or completely inaccurate Nolan comparisons.

Agreed. I love that suit so much. One of my favourite things was how the frames for the lenses were blue. I also liked how the pattern of the red areas had blue dots in them.

Amen! That whole scene, right up until the point where he arrives to graduate, is probably my favourite Spider-Man scene from a movie ever, it just screams Spider-Man SO MUCH to me. :woot:

I still hate that not all of the deleted scenes that we know exist were included on the Blu-ray/DVD. No alternate Gwen deaths, no MJ scenes, etc. :csad:

Seems like they were quite picky with what they wanted to include on the DVD which is a shame. :(

That pisses me off as well. Might as well give us everything.

How do we even know they exist? I think they were fake. Was the guy who posted the stuff about alternate footage legit?

The reason I ask is because I remember reading all these fake reports about footage in these movies that never actually existed.

Maybe there really needs to be...
A Director's Cut.

I really want one for asm1 and 2. I also want one for sm3 and sm1. ASM1, 2 and sm3 all had a l cut and I just want to know what was cut in sm1.

I don't know about the longer goblin fight thing but like with sm3 there where photos that showed some of the stuff that was cut. Also the frustrating thing is that so much was cut form asm2 that you could just about make a whole another movie with it all and most of the movies problems where either greatly improved or even complete fixed with ever thing that was cut. Finally on the asm2 dvd commentary they talked about some of the things that where cut. So I don't know what you mean about a lt of reports about footage that was fake. I never heard much about things that may have been fake at all so I don't know what you are talking about.

Yeah most of those scenes are in fact real. I mainly want a director's cut for SM3 but TASM2 deserves one as well.

I guess the reason I think they wouldn't ever do a Director's Cut for ASM2 is based on the amount of money and the type of success it had. ASM2 was a disappointment in the BO and not fairing much better in the DVD sales either. Coming from the business standpoint, there's no incentive financially for Sony to edit in different scenes and then release another version. They'd probably end up losing more money.

IMO, they'd stand to make more money by releasing a cut of SM3.

Yeah I think you're right and I don't think an SM3 director's cut will ever happen.
