How well does comic book films do in China, give me the box office numbers of several comic book movies--over the last decade in China?

None the less, it will still be the lowest grossing film of the series, and even further outgrossed when you factor in 3D boost and inflation. When more money was invested in a film that made less, Sony is not dancing around the room.

I'll bet money that it passes Hunger Games, but not that it'll be passing Ice Age 4 after TAS-M hits China.

China actually punches well below it's weight in terms of population though. That is due to the fact that the majority of the population isn't really urbanized yet and the rampant bootlegging no doubt.

ASM is an absolute lock to pass this total

ICE AGE 4 - 717m

ASM is a possible to pass this but it will be close, probably unlikely.

There isn't a single superhero movie in China's highest grossing ever movies.
Top 10 includes; Avatar, Titanic, All 3 Transformers movies whatever and Inception.

That said I would expect ASM to make at least $20m

I can't find a list of movies that finished outside the top 10 in China.

Yeah, from what I remember, TDK wasn't released in China.
I'd bet TASM would make between 12m - 17m in China.

And there you have it, no superhero movies. I don't know if Avengers was released in China.

Yah, I am aware of Avi Arad saying they didn't expect Sam Raimi's numbers, but no one expects their movie to only make about $14 million more than their budget domestically, especially when it's a Spider-Man flick.

How easily your memory goes. I have praised TAS-M's foreign accomplishments .

So taking an average,it has met its expectations

as it's the only thing TAS-M can be praised for

Your bitterness and pessimism associated with this movie is Amazing

There are many broader aspects to go instead of overly light and overly dark. Raimi went one direction and Webb went the other instead of trying to have a blend of mixtures and tones which coincidentally is after Nolan's trilogy.

Please tell me how scenes like the Bathroom scene or the subway car scene or the scenes at OsCorp in the beggining or the Car Jacker scene or the whole Lizard fight or the Basket ball scene are overly Dark??

The movie is realistic,its not dark..it didnt use BB's tone in the first place
And Daredevil reinvented the dark toneEverybody give it credit

Why should you factor out the 3D boost? If you want to please also count out the money they spent on filming in 3D and reduce the budget
And no,more money was not spent ,Sm2 budget was almost 260M and SM3 was 310M..Inflation works both ways

But still it made lot lot more compared to the solo MCU movies(Except IM1) and BB

Avengers made 84.1M in China
So 40M is a possibility
So around 725M overall,Almost double of what BB made
But hey,BB is a bigger financial success

Even so, I believe Spider-Man is much more popular over there than Batman.
