That movie didn't exist then, LOL! But you did see the "Bestest movie evah, LULZ!!!!" type responses.

I'd love to read some of those positive GL tweets. Anyone have link where I can find some of them?

Since everyone seems to remember them so clearly.

Loved the shot of Spider-Man punching the Lizard in the face. That was truly epic! I'm very excited for this film! I'm hoping it delivers. Thus far, I've enjoyed everything Webb has shown. I honestly don't care what people think. All I care about is my own opinion.

The only reason why I would want this film to be a massive hit is to cushion the amount of enthusiasm from the cast and crew. When Marc, Andrew, Emma, Rhys, etc talk about this film...they get kind of this glint in their eyes. They know the mythology and have done extensive amounts of research to bring these characters to life. Hearing their stories about staying up late and reading all the comic books is awesome.

Especially when Emma talks about reading the huge graphic novel "The Night Gwen Stacy Died". Or Rhys talking about the various incarnations of Connors/Lizard and which he drew inspiration from. It would just be nice for that enthusiasm to be recognized and propel them forward with the future installments.

Even if this film under performs in box office, doesn't mean sequels can't be a home run. I'm looking at Batman Begins with that in mind. I just got done watching an interview with the cast that was posted on June 9th. I'm pretty sure most have already seen it. The interviewer asked a lot of good questions. I think particularly he talks to Rhys about how Connors knows a lot of the secrets to the film. He asked Rhys if he himself knew the answers to all the secrets surrounding the film.

Rhys confirmed that Webb has given him all the answers about Peter's parents and who the mysterious man is in the trailer. From the sound of Rhys and how he plays the role with Andrew...it sounds like Rhys knows a lot of back story to the film that other actors and actresses do not. They believe this amplifies the mystery when shooting scenes.

I honestly think that's a cool effect! It also makes me wonder, could Connors show up in the other sequels? I think that would be awesome to pay homage to the comics/the animated television series. That was always a cool relationship Connors and Spider-Man had.

A question for you guys though, and this definitely is impractical but...would you guys like Lizard to briefly appear again sometime down the road? That was one of the characteristics Connors always suffered from. They could play it off like how Nolan always has Scarecrow show up in the Batman movies briefly.

I think the amount of resources required for the character isn't necessarily a good idea when those assets could be focused on other portions of the film. Regardless, Lizard is my favorite villain. Seeing him in more than one movie is a bonus for me!

Is it on YouTube yet? OT: Was there another TDKR TV Spot during the Finals too?

I never get this. In what way did Batman Begins under perform? It didn't make TDK numbers, but as the first Batman film after Batman and Robin, it did very well, making WAY more than just doubling its budget($372 million with a $150 million budget).

Nolan is really bringing Scarecrow back for the fans(I believe Crane will be showing up in TDKR), but I think if anything, Connors could just show up in a sequel...MAYBE, but....I never really saw the use of Connors being used since Peter is a science whiz himself; he doesn't really need the help, does he? Connors makes sense if the symbiote is used though.

I went to see Prometheus today and I saw this on the way in :D

Three weeks to go.

The costume looks great at this pov...you can't see all the dumb stuff on it. Had it been more simplistic like this pov...then I would be all for the costume.

Well it didn't meet projected figures. If memory serves correctly, they were anticipating the film to be a massive hit in the box office. It was supposed to be the definitive Batman movie. *Which, to an extent, it kind of was.*

The figures it produced were by no means terrible. As you said, it did great. I think most people around that time were expecting the film to be a huge success similar to Spider-Man. However, I never really understood that. Batman is such a gothic character. His stories are much darker than anything you would get out of Spider-Man. Even though Spider-Man definitely has had some dark tales over the years. I just thought Spidey reached a greater market than Batman.

But, that was definitely put to rest with the release of The Dark Knight.

I think Connors would be a great throwback character. I think in many ways, Connors is a genius on levels that Peter isn't capable of and vice versa. There is definitely an interesting relationship between the two and they compliment each other very well. From the various clips released, you can kind of see the Father surrogate many refer to Connors as.

Which would be one of the reasons to bring him back in later installments. Peter needs and intellectual equal and I think Connors provides that. *And I'm not trying to leave out Gwen. I know she is also something of a genius. But the father angle wouldn't really work well with her. :hehe:*

Everyone could use a mentor every now and then.

Wait, wait....are they still covering the silver now with only a few weeks until release?

we need to get this image in HD High Res!!!

Minus the eyesore ugly cleats...great looking. The birds behind him a bit John Woo-esque and sorta pointless...pigeons don't fly around at night:o but that's ok. The cgi looks good there.

Hrm...any way I can find out what number Warner Brothers was projecting with BB? I'm surprised they even thought there would be a set number. As I said, being the first Bat film to be released after Batman & Robin and a unknown director except for the indie crowd to be the director, I didn't see how WB had an idea already. I can't really see Sony having some big idea either tbh.

Although, if you keep bringing back Connors and having this story of Peter still searching for his dad, it'll feel like there won't be an empty void with Ben's death. I think with no more father figure that Connors could represent will show how Peter really lost his father and his uncle who was a father figure for him, being Ben. Connors acting as somewhat of a "surrogate" can only fit in this first film, imo.

"Pigeons don't fly at night."

I hope Chaseter is serious because that would be the most epic nitpick of all time. lmao.

I'd love to read some of those positive GL tweets. Anyone have link where I can find some of them?

Since everyone seems to remember them so clearly.

I'm too lazy to backlog the GL thread, but you are more than able to.

we did get early tweets on Ghost Rider:SoV and they were right on

well those tweets(SoV) were confirmed on other sites, the ones for ASM don't seem to be legit imo

Go to google and type in "Green Lantern early reactions slash film". Then click on the article that says "Early Buzz: First Screening of 'Green Lantern'..."

It was identical to the reactions that TASM got from its Twitter reactions.

Can't post the article itself as some of the reviews have some profanity.

Uh, he's saying that people are equating the tweets to the Green Lantern situation where people apparently said it was good but it wasn't. Apparently for Ghost Rider the tweets were correct that it was horrible.

He's just saying that it's just as likely that the tweets are correct as it is that they are incorrect.

Weren't those the reactions that proclaimed how hot Blake Lively is?

just 2 more days for an actual review i hope is good:awesome:

Ok thanks.

Basically we won't know if the movie is good or bad until we get legit reviews or we see it for ourselves.
