And they're just rumors anyway..who knows whether they're true or false, only them

Well we have had positive reviews of the final cut, so I'm confident this movie will be good.

I get being sceptical over a new take on something. It's fair play to just wait and see :-)

To be fair, a lot of films leave things on the cutting room floor.

Star Trek 09 left a whole sub plot involving Nero and the Klingons out. It also left out a young Jim Kirk talking to his brother Sam. It cut out the scene on the Kobayashi Maru test where the green lady activated the program which let Kirk win the test (unbeknownst to her).

That's just one example that really springs to mind lol.

Didn't they cut a part with Greg Grunberg as Kirk's step-father and just left it so he was the voice of his step-father berating Kirk for stealing his car? I think I read that somewhere... that or it was planned for him to appear and not just be a voice.

There was so much cut out of the movie, but I thought it was so well done. Looking forward to the sequel next year!

Me too (and the prequel/sidequel game looks interesting too). Trying to avoid spoilers though, but it looks like Klingons are appearing pretty much like they did in the deleted scenes (I hope they still have the head ridges under the helmets).

I was hoping they would not have any ridges since it is supposed to take place during the TOS era (or even earlier).

For all we know, those cut lines - "do you think what happened to you was an accident?" - were made for the trailer to generate buzz. Point is, it could be anything.

I really hope nothing "ground breaking" or "plot changing" was cut. I want to see the movie Webb and Co. intended to make, not something watered down because annoying fans would lash out if it's inaccurate.

I grew up with TNG. It just seems weird to me without them and they look more distinct in my opinion. I didn't see much of the original show (though I did see the movies which also had the ridges). Plus while I liked Enterprise, I didn't like them working in the ridged/ridgeless Klingons into the actual story. If felt silly and I just separate it as a limitation of the original show's budget and capabilities.

I've noticed more films being changed from the trailers these days. Though while I've seen some bits I preferred left on the cutting room floor, I haven't seen anything substantial left out (at least nothing that was originally in the trailers). As long as I'm not sold an entirely different movie with actual plot points that are discarded in the final edit them I'll let it slide for the most part.

The reason why the Klingons had no ridges in TOS is obviously because of the budget, but I like how they explained this in Enterprise. The genetic mutation experiment was pretty cool (but of course I like the whole "mystery" behind it... watch the DS9 episode called "trials of tribulations").

While everyone loves the ridged Klingons more, the non-ridged ones fit the TOS era.

That's a great one.

I know what I am going to do while waiting for this movie. I will watch the entire Spider-man TAS series. TSSM is too short.

but TSSM is about crossed species, and Oscorp involved, right?
Spiderman Unlimited doesn´t count in the crossed species thing :hehe:

Lol why is that in a quote? Also, I agree, TSSM would probably get me in the mood for this movie. It has Gwen, and the fact that Peter and Gwen work with Doc Connors together, a younger Peter, and it has cross species, but its just too dang short:csad:
EDIT: Nvm about the quote lol.

If SSM was not cancelled, wouldn't it be on the 4th season by now or something?

The deleted scenes don't seem like they change the story. They were most likely cut because they were extending the film's length a little too much.

I guess so...

But Goran said that the pacing is pretty fast so it wouldn't probably have hurt to have a little extra in there

Anyone from NYC going to the Today show?

Contemplating going but if I do, going to have to leave for the train in a few hours. A lot of the cast is going to be there apparently.

I would say either right before the start of, or during the fifth season. And also, it would've been the last season as well as the goal was only to do five seasons. The end of Peter's senior year.

I didn't think that there were tickets left, but I managed to snag a midnight IMAX 3D showing for me and my friends.

As much as I'm looking forward to this film. I just hope I can get over how bad the lizard looks.
