he didn't let anything slip, he specifically mentioned brother & sister in two separate interviews. You really think it's more likely to be Aurora and Northstar? Really? It has to be Wanda & Pietro.

Although I would kill for an Alpha Flight movie.
Why would he just put something like that out there when he's so notoriously tight lipped, unless he's trying to mislead us? Joss has read some pretty obscure stuff in his time, back in the day as a kid. I'm sure there is another brother/sister "act" in the comics that we're not thinking of. Hell, he could even be talking about Cloak and Dagger. The nature of their relationship isn't clearly defined, but that could be interpreted as a brother/sister act in a way.

Can someone post the Yahoo interview or a link to it? I think I only watched the THR interview.

Is this piece of news really revelatory though? I mean it is interesting to us, but it doesn't give hints to the plot or the villain(s) though, which are usually the items that are most closely guarded. Seems like it fits to me, plus we know that Joss wants a powerful female character on the team and Wanda would fit that nicely.

Wait what? Info is out there? Either Joss is out of touch or he's not talking about the Maximoffs.
Yes, if they're talking to actors that means the major agencies have the info and it was inevitable that the trades would have picked it up, and soon

"Out there" doesn't always mean "on fan blogs on the internet"

Jeff Sneider (former Variety writer, currently writes for the Wrap) tweeted that he had indeed heard that SW and QS will be in this

Why would he be more willing to talk about an out-of-nowhere appearance by Cloak and Dagger than a that-makes-total-sense appearance by Pietro and Wanda? I don't see the logic there

Pietro & Wanda is the combo that most fits with the statement & circumstances. The most Avengers related (you know, being actual regular Avengers & reasonably significant ones at that) and the closest to a brother sister relationship (you know, actually being a brother & sister).

Okay then, I'm more inclined to believe he's not effing with us now.

Because to me, that just seems like the sort of thing he'd do to throw people off. Put out the "brother/sister" act and all the fanboys will immediately assume it's Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch, but it turns out to be a completely different duo. But if Sneider says he heard it then I'm more inclined to believe that it is them and isn't Joss messing with us.

If it is them, I can see them as being villains at the beginning of the film, maybe working for Thanos or something. I'd imagine that, if there were ever a time in phase 2, this would be where that "slot" in the brain talked about in IM3 would be used again, and it makes sense as Feige and Downey said IM3 would set up a lot of things for future movies.

Maybe when Whedon says brother and sister, he really doesn't mean that literally but is using that as a metaphor for other types of relationships, like husband and wife, mother and daughter, father and son, man and dog, woman and cat, friend and friend etc. :o

Maybe Marvel bought the rights to the Wonder Twins :awesome:

The Other isn't a through away character only created for the movie. He was based off of Chthon the Elder God. I'm pretty sure Whedon is using him to play the roll of Mephisto in the MCU.

With this news of Maximoffs now, this is very interesting. If this guy really is Chthon, then he could have a connection to the twins and explain how they're involved in the plot a bit. In the comics, Wanda and Pietro are revealed to have been born during a fight The Other is involved in on Mt. Wundagore, his prison. The Other imbued Wanda with magical powers after her birth in order to one day possess her. This was told in Avengers #185-187 (mostly in #186-187).

lawl that threw me off when I was reading through it too.

yeah, wtf? How can comic readers take what a talking cow is saying seriously lol. Just too out there for me.

^ lol

So scarlett witch...completely what I expected.. ;)

That's Bova the cow. She's one of the High Evolutionary's experiments where he turned various animals into intelligent beings.

But in Spider-Woman: Origins, it retconned Bova so that she was just a normal person, since Bova was also around for Jessica Drew's beginnings.

Maybe he meant the Punisher and his van

Or Steve Rogers before the serum and Steve Rogers after the serum.

Or Tony and his shawarma.

Or Loki and Darlene.

Or Chris Evans and Jessica Alba.

Or Justin Hammer and the ex-wife.

Or Alfred the Butler and Rhett Butler.

Or Terrence Howard and Don Cheadle.

Or the Pope and Whoopie Goldberg.

The possible meanings of "brother and sister act" are uncountable.

^ That doesn't make sense since most people say Sarah Jessica Parker looks like a horse.

Using the High Evolutionary as the source of Wanda and Pietro's power (as opposed to mutant power, which is off limits because of Fox) would also open doorways into Adam Warlock's story as well. Oddly enough, GOTG *could* potentially feature the first cameo of the Maximoffs, if they go with High E. Maybe that's why Joss says they're already casting?

The High Evolutionary would also tie in with Spider-Woman and Hydra. It's all very connected.

Hmm, don't know about them appearing in GotG, but maybe a little hint could be dropped.

Like I mentioned before that post though, another source of their power could be the slot in the brain that was revealed in IM3. Maybe they could combine both elements and make it where the High Evolutionary activated the slots in their brains?

Interesting. We were just talking about how Spider-Woman could be inserted into the MCU in a thread in the Marvel Films section about a week or two ago.

But yeah, I was just reading up on that, the stuff with Jonathan Drew. Amazing how connected all that is...it's possible they could even role Jess into the plot with Wanda and Pietro, though that may be too much.
