I've always thought those 2 kids from IM1 were a nod to the Twins

The kid is wearing blue and looks hyper while his sister is wearing red and is quiet

I wonder why the floating city is part of Ultron's plan, what will he achieve?

If that device the Avengers are protecting is an [BLACKOUT]anti-gravity machine as described in the junior book[/BLACKOUT] then it might be a way to keep the fight away from civilians as much as possible.

That must be why Quicksilver hates the Avengers. Because of that ice-cream.

Seems allmost the most logical one to me. They both have had or have a monster inside, they both have a past where they did terrible things, they both tend to keep an emotional distance and are very guarded from others, both feel that they have to control theyre own emotions, they both have a very low key, allmost sarcastic wit and sense of humor...

Its perhaps for different reasons, but they have a lot in common. And at the same time, they are a bit of oposites, him being the more shy and her being the most proactive one, and as the saying goes, oposites atract each other. I think if you look past the surface, that combination of oposition and relation makes for a very believeable relationship.

Dont get me wrong, you are entitled not to like it, of course, but i dont think its as odd or out there as people are making it out to be if you look close enough.

See I agree with a lot of what your saying, but to me I just don't think a romantic relationship feels right. I think it would be more suited for a friendship. It shows a relation that they don't share with the others, so they can understand what the other is going through. As a romantic relationship it just seems destined for disaster and for me personally feels kinda forced. Though I understand where you are coming from.

Also for anyone interested I just read the junior novel. A few thoughts...

I liked the interaction between Strucker and Cap in the castle. Unless the book was hiding stuff, it seems like SW just whispers in the Avergers ears, they have flashbacks or black out, and she walks away. At least that's what happened in the opening scene.

It seems like it has a lot of humor. Everyone (yes Hawkeye too!) has great one liners.

Ultron definitely has daddy issues with Stark. He apparently thinks like Stark too, repeating a line that Stark used to tell Klaue back in the day. When Klaue asks Ultron if he is a Stark robot...he flips out at him. Oh..he also apparently kills Strucker because he knows too much. I was hoping to see him in Civil War. Oh well.

And if anyone wants to know - the scenes go...

1) Avengers Hydra battle
2) Re-group at Avengers tower (there's three days in-between where Ultron is created)
3) Tower party - Ultron kills Jarvis. Thor eventually destroys Ultron M1 - but Ultron says he has no strings now and he's free. His new body is automatically formed in Strucker's lab
4) Argument in the lab - this is where Thor chokes Tony. They agree to go find Ultron.
5) The twins find Ultron in Sokovia castle. They join him.
6) Avengers discover Ultron is after Vibranium and seeks to get it from Klaue.
7) Fight in the ship in South Africa. Iron Man vs Ultron. Thor/CA/BW taken out by SW/QS. Hawkeye is unaffected by mind-control saying "he's done that before and didn't like it" and he takes out SW with an arrow. SW unleashes Banner who stayed behind in the Quinjet.
8) Hulk/Hulkbuster fight. Hulk is subdued. Regroup at Avengers tower.

Man I need to get this tomorrow if Barnes n Nobel has it

@Seahammer LMAO ROFL

Ah, so that means
Hulkbuster does manage to win the fight against Hulk. Interesting.

I wonder why the floating city is part of Ultron's plan, what will he achieve?

Because he can. He'll show the world that he is a literal translation of Deus Ex Machina.

Are the twins or Strucker held captive somewhere after the first fight?

That must be why Quicksilver hates the Avengers. Because of that ice-cream.

Another reference IMO - and I could be way off lol - was in CATWS

When Cap and BW go to that mall and Cap says " If I run, those shoes are gonna fall off"; it felt like a QS reference to me

Plus, Cap shoes are blue and Nat's red/purplish

Just give me a solid 30 seconds of War Machine, Whedon. That's all I ask. I still can't believe WM (or Iron Patriot, whatever) doesn't have a single second of action in the suit in IM3.
Yeah, 30 seconds of WM action would do me too. That beautiful armour deserves to see some wartime action.

No. After the Hydra raid, they go and steal food with their powers for the people in Sokovia (a very poor nation) and are told by a kid on the street that an Iron Man wants to see them in the castle, because IM has his Iron Legion patrolling the streets. When they get there, it's Ultron.

During the Hydra raid, the twins escape their cells and start causing havoc. QS knocks Hawkeye over and he gets shot.

SW whispers into Cap and IM's ears causing them to lose track of time/see flashbacks/etc. No specific mention of a Thanos vision here though.

The cool part was SW let's IM take the scepter. QS asks her why she did that and she replies "Because he needs it" basically showing how she saw he would create Ultron with it.

It was very cool

Hulkbuster does manage to win the fight against Hulk. Interesting.

The book had like one sentence in its epilogue about it. Basically saying that Tony stopped the Hulk's rampage and they went back to Avengers tower.

Also it makes me think that scene in the Quinjet in the trailer where everyone is looking away from Banner is after the Hulkbuster fight. In the scene after the Hydra fight he has a shirt on and is much less tense.

Me too. My guess would be this stopped 40-45 mins into the movie. There's still a ton left like...

No Nick Fury
No Hawkeye house
No Vision
No Thor vs Vision
No flashback scenes described - like BWs
No Thor individual mission

Oh - two more things I thought were cool....1) Ultron is creating his robot army. He shows the twins when they visit the castle. 2) Thor tries to contact Heimdall to find where Ultron is - but he didn't answer - which prompts Thor to say he is either absent or someone is telling him not to respond - a hint at Loki. Thor is also obsessed with finding the scepter during the short novel. He wants to take it back to Asgard.

Thanks I did in the last few posts. I don't mind spoilers that much. It makes me really want to see this film.

From what I read, everything is well paced, even Maria Hill and Rhodes get some decent time - mostly because in the scenes everyone is together so it lends itself to equal screentime in a way...

@Illegal Seafood: does the novel mention anything about QS/SW motivation like why they decided to go to Ultron or be be experimented on by Strucker etc because there are reports saying they don't like America or Tony Stark?
