I don't know the spoilers about the final battle in AOU but I think it's a bit harsh to say it's predictable when super hero movies where using the same climax formula way before Marvel started making their own movies. I like the Sam Rami Spider Man movies ( well 1 & 2 anyway) but and all three movies have the same set up for the final fight. Mary Jane is captured, spidey fights villain , villain kills themselves, spidey wins. Numerous other movies have used a similar format as well. People didn't seem to mind when those movies did it. I haven't seen AOU and every movie has flaws and things people don't like and that's fine. But if having a big battle with Ultron and his clones is similar to the fight with Loki and the chitauri then, it's okay as long as it makes sense story wise. But I do think movies should try to switch things up and not completely rehash previous movies climaxes.

i wasnt judging the film. the guy i was responding to said he noticed a trend in the reviews. im saying if thats accurate, its a legitimate issue, and not some ******** anti marvel whatever. should we all just shut up and wax poetic about this movie until two weeks from now? or should we be able to have discussions here? because it certainly seems that anything REMOTELY negative or concerning about this film gets told to shut up, be patient, theyre just nitpicky anti MCU dbags, whatever.

If we cant accurately judge the ills of a movie based on clips and reviews, then we cant sing its praises based on those 30 second clips and reviews either? right?

I was going to stay completely out of this kind of discussion because I don't really care what anyone says one way or the other. The "only" exception I can think of to this are the sort of snarky personal comments (unless they are aimed at me; then I go back to not caring). Everyone's entitled to their opinions about fanboys/gals, trolls, opinions of opinions, etc. I "think" that we'd all be better off if we skipped the "you're a booger", "you think", "you....etc.". If people want to continue with that, whatever, but I don't think it really helps anyone. My opinion is frell the critics, trolls, and so on. Not that I think they're jerks, great or anything else. I don't think anything about them. They just don't matter to me at this point. I'm going to watch the movie (yeah, yeah....I know guys/gals from Europe, UK, etc. a WEEK after you do ), have my own opinion, and read about what others think. If I think they're wrong, I'll just say "I don't agree with you" and not say something like "How come there's so many more horses @$$e$ than there are horses?"

Ill take people more seriously when theyve seen the whole movie and have complaints. These complaints about the actors voice or the CGI in 1 minute clips is kinda petty to me. Thats just my honest opinion. No offense intended.

I don't have an issue with final battles from the films. Not many films like these end without a huge battle. I don't think I can get tired of something I enjoy. Bought 4 tickets last night and will be seeing the film Thursday night, I doubt I'll be thinking "not another huge battle to end the movie", I will be going crazy seeing action from characters I enjoy.

It's true that the heroes/heroines usually win in the end, but I think this is going to be a little bit different in that it sets the stage for what is to come. I'm sure Ultron gets whacked, but it seems like it will come at a great cost and alliances will be, at a minimum, strained. This could even be the fallout between Banner/Natasha (I am just wildly speculating and don't believe that will be the case; but it "could" be). I certainly don't think this will be one of those Harry Potter we won and all is right between me and my friends scenarios. If that's right, it IS different than a lot of other of these kinds of movies. We win the battle, but we lose part of who we are is how I read the tea leaves.

From what I read about the movie, I assumed by the end of AOU the teammates would be splintered and not on the best terms. Like "We won but theres some heavy unresolved stuff that we're not sure of anymore now".

I'd love to see a new group of Avengers post IW. Cap, QS, SW, Hawkeye, Vision, Capt Marvel. Sort of like the early, early days of the Avengers "Four against the Minotaur" (Cap, QS, SW, Hawkeye) when the Avengers first broke up.

I don't think Hemsworth is in love with keeping all the weight on or so I've heard. Thor is, however, my favorite character, but I wouldn't mind if Carol Danvers/CM took his place.

I'm not sure how they didn't know about the embargo considering most screenings are told beforehand or in a contract about a specific date they're allowed to release full reviews.

10 times bigger than the first. But the highlight is Hakweye. Not only an Avenger but THE Avenger.

Yeah the massive end battle thing with rampant destruction can get tiresome especially if we have to see it multiple times each year.

For one of these movies, i'd love to see the climax just be an extended mano a mano confrontation between the hero and villain. No world/universe fate in the balance, Just a bad guy that needs to be taught a lesson. Raid 2 style.

Isn't that how Daredevil ended and then Devin Faraci went on twitter/wrote a review talking about how Kingpin hadn't done enough evil/the stakes weren't high enough.

All the reviews Ive read so far have been raves. Not sure what everyone is freaking out about. Even the ones with nitpicks ultimately enjoyed the hell out of the movie. Now, I avoid places like IMDB like the plague, so I cant speak to random anonymous posts. They may or may not have seen the movie, but I havent read them.

As far as the complaints about yet another huge, climactic battle against an army: The moment Ultron was announced as the villain, it was a given. If its well done, with interesting elements, not a problem.
