The sky is pink, the Earth is flat, and humans don't need oxygen to live. But this is just my opinion and opinions can't be wrong.

Exactly. Thor did more outside of the U.S. than The Incredible Hulk did period. Cap also beat TIH by over $100 M dollars.

Other than Spider-Man, Batman and Iron Man, no superhero has broke $500 M ww. Cap and Thor's performances aren't even "B-list". They're both roughly even with Superman's performances (even the original adjusted for inflation) and the performances of Fox's X-movies. Their performances are looked down on due to the Iron Man fluke.

Both were in 3D, while all the other movies you mentioned weren't...

After seeing that trailer can I change my answer to $1 TRILLION????

If you get there early enough and find a great spot to sit in, crowds can actually be pretty fun. I love midnight premieres solely because the people that are in the theater are, more times than not, die hard fans just like me so it makes the whole experience that much better.

I love going to the movies with big crowds, specifically the action types like this one, the horror types ( loved the screaming in The Ring when the girl started to come out of the TV) and the comedies, (I think This Means War was more funnier than it actually was because of the engaging crowd)

3D isn't always a positive thing. I know plenty of people in real life, and saw plenty of stories on the net, where people didn't watch Thor because they couldn't find 2D showings.

There needs to be a balance, because some people just hate 3D, no matter how well it's done.

It obviously still boosted ticket prices and overall box office though.

If it's one thing I hate about MARVEL studios it's this crappy tacking on 3D nonsense. I really wish they would stop it. It reeks of 'anything for a buck'.

Well for a small studio like Marvel that only makes 150 + million dollar superhero movies, that is the mentality they need to have.

Fair enough they are backed by Disney now, but still, if they had a couple of GL style failures i don't think the Mouse would be too pleased.

Quite the opposite. If there's one studio out there that could enhance their movie experiences with 3D, it's Marvel Studios, they just have to actually make it good 3D first, like The Amazing Spider-Man is turning out to achieve. Hopefully they take the conversion process more seriously this time around.

I didnt see either CA or Thor in 3D .
Was it that bad?

I saw both in 3d...thor in 3d was ok, but didnt improve the experience. Cap in 3d was a little distracting. Overall, 3d seems afterthoughtish. Avengers seems like it could be a great 3d experience but im not holding my breath...i'll end up seeing both versions.

I understand the criticisms toward Marvel for their conservative approach to their MCU films and the tight control that they exerted over those movies, but as a company (before Disney's acquisition) they were working on loans from their creditors and couldn't afford to suffer huge losses, like WB can with GL and SR, and when you think about it none of their movies can be called bad, and all of them gotten nice returns for profit. Sure, they didn't have Chris Nolan and the kind of success he has with Batman franchise, but then again WB only has Nolan and nobody else.

He's really only had one mega-success so far in the Batman franchise - tdk (of course he will have tdkr). BB was the same level of success as CA:TFA

I agree. If they were doing 3D properly then fine, but tacking it on in post prod is, well, tacky.

They aren't just tacking it on though. Joss didn't like shooting with 3d cameras

Yep, people act as if both of Nolan's Batman films pulled in TDK level numbers.

No, but the highly successful Inception is something to consider. He might be one of the few directors that can bring in the crowds on his name alone.

Outside of TDK and Inception we have yet to see that proven. Lets wait until Nolan's next movie after TDKR to determine that.

At the very least, the trailer will get the Nolan fanboys to see it, especially if they pull what they did before and not release the new trailer immediately.

Well, like the fellow from ET said " I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and say that this film will do very well at the box office." :D If he likes it, I'm guessing the general public will be all over it

Yeah that was mighty cool of him to say that at end, I don't see how anyone could think this film isn't going to be a box office smash hit.
