The Avengers The Avengers Critics Reviews Thread - Part 2

It's gonna need 13-14 more positive reviews (with zero negatives) to get back up to 97%. Seems doable.

He's a troll, plain and simple. His Cabin in the Woods "review" was laughable. In fact I wonder whether he's watched either Cabin or TA.

Anyway, Rolling Stone adored TA, and that's a billion times more meaningful!

TDK had 18 bad reviews. Its inevitable. Once every US critic has weighed in, the score could EASILY be at or below 90%. There are more trolls and more snobs who have yet to weigh in. The movie is a huge success already, so just relax and enjoy.

I'm looking forward to the film and I'm probably going opening day but I really don't trust the reviews for Joss Whedon films or T.V Shows because the critics always seem to go way to easy on his stuff.

I like critics and usually reviews like this would excite me but because of the director I don't take the reviews to heart.

totally agree with this review. avengers is a great movie, but best ever? c'mon...

I think it's good that you're tempering your expectations, tbh. It's my personal favorite superhero movie ever, but it seems very possible that the critics are gonna end up over-hyping it for a lot of people. I'm dreading the inevitable backlash.

That said, I'm loving these review. :woot:

Just out of curiosity, I know you're not a Serenity fan, but did you think the critics went too easy on Cabin in the Woods as well?

What I find hilarious is how these negative reviewers cannot even write skillfully to hide their bias.

The 'fanthefire' guy takes a direct blatant jab at 'fanboys' and so does this cole smithy guy with his "doesn't Hollywood realise fanboy culture is over" comment.

Oooh, I just noticed that it's up to 80 at Metacritic. Yay!

It will never be over, it is a way of life!:argh:

Yeah, anyone who includes the word fanboy in the first paragraph - that's when I stop reading.

That's how they do it, their entire focus is pissing people off to get hits for their low rent sites.

I fail to see how they've gone easy on him. He didn't direct Cabin in the woods, only was a writer. As a director he's only had this and Serenity really.

As a writer some of his stuff has been trashed, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
