BUT WB/DCE and Disney/Marvel Studios have 'collaborated' before. It hasn't caused a negative effect on either company as of yet. It's simply promoting films and getting paid for it.

Oh i know :yay:

I guess some people are wary cause they want Avengers to perform better than TDKR.

Must. Stop. Nolan. From. Making. Money. :cwink:

I know this sounds cruel, but no one is going to see Dark Shadows.

LOL. I could not give a rats' *** about dark shadows as I am a fan of the original and this looks like an abomination to me.

But why do you think it will do that badly? It was quite high on that recent Fandango survey.

Oh, I don't think it'll bomb or anything like that but I doubt a large portion of people are going to go see the film. The marketing has been awful.

Who knows though? It may surprise us.

Interestingly I was watching the sci-fi channel yesterday (don't ask why) and I never saw a tv spot but for THE AVENGERS but I did see one for dark shadows.

One major problem with that movie is that they pissed off the fanbase.

So here we are, less than two weeks from the official release of The Avengers. I figured this would be a good chance to take a look back to Comic Con 2010. It seems like an eternity since this took place. For some nostalgia, watch this video......

How so? I'm not familiar with it at all.

This isn't anywhere close to the first time it's happened. There are also DC ads in Marvel comics and Marvel ads in DC comics all the time. You have to pay for the movie/comic to see the ad, they're not losing money.

Correct me if Im wrong but I've never seen an Avengers ad on a DC comic yet, I've seen Green Lantern's and Batman's ads on Marvel comics.
Is this one sided?

Question to you guys: How's The Avengers' advertisement in your city? I guess it is because the movie is still (less than) 2 weeks away, the marketing has been a bit slow here in Los Angeles. I've only see posters in a bus stop about a week ago, and I haven't seen any billboards or bus ads yet. On the other hand, Battleship comes out two weeks after TA but I've seen a couple of ads on buses already. Perhaps Disney wants to wait until a week before its premiere before rolling them out, but so far I'm not sure whether the general public (ie not Internet crowd) is aware of this movie in my city yet.

I've seen a few bus stop ads and television advertisement is on every channel. I've personally seen nothing for Battleship. (Good riddance)

I´ve only seen various TV spots here so far, aswell as a Late Night Show that has Hemsworth, Hiddleston and Ruffalo as guests and is airing tonight. Have´nt seen any posters or bilboards for that matter, but it´s a really small town, so in general there´s not much around.

But the TV channels that incorporate Avengers into their main programm are doing so well and constant, imo the perfect channel for the target audience is doing that. Awareness seems to be there definately.

The battleship trailers have stopped airing in TV since it was released, so currently almost nothing but Avengers ads :) (aside from some rom-com that airs TV spots irregulary)

Awesome. What an amazing journey we've all been on.

PERFECT casting

Heh. RDJ got the biggest reaction of any of the people there.
Edit: You could see Chris Evans and Hemsworth were surprised at the reaction RDJ got.

The man managed to re-invent a great characer...he deserves his accolades :)

Update on a Helicarrier control monitor Wallpaper I'm making. Was thinking about something last night while doing this. What happens if the monitors go out on the Helicarrier? I mean there has to be actual controls SOMEWHERE.

That Avengers sound track sounds GREAT! I'm loving the main theme. Can't wait for the rock cd too.

the score's up on youtube now if anyone's interested.

The marketing blitz is in full swing in my neck of the woods. Tons of tv spots and what not. Haven't seen any billboards or anything but I don't get out much :yay:

Did one of those free trials at Fandango to get a free movie pass, which I am saving for next Fri. :awesome:
