The best superhero TV show ever made (so far ), followed by Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.

And funny you guys mention Rocketeer, as the guy when worked on the Rocketeer costume also did The Flash suit for the TV show.

That makes sense. Both of those costumes, to this day, are some of the best we've seen in superhero films/TV shows. That guy was ahead of his time.

Nah, that's just me wishing he is Jay haha. As you say, probably he'll be his dad, which is cool as hell also.

Although I don't get why they didn't just announce that the role is Barry's dad. But instead went with "Mystery role" and "No further details about the role/character are being released at this time."

I doubt they withheld who he was playing because some people wanted him to play someone other than Barry's dad. It's not like people will be disappointed that he is Barry's dad. We just wanted Shipp to be on the show.

I'd be disappointed if he was just Barry's dad.He'll get 10 minutes from jail every 3 episodes.A guy like JWS deserves to hit the streets again.

It wouldn't make sense for them to be so secretive if it was Barry's dad. In his two episodes on Arrow, we kind of got the gist of Barry's past with his mom and dad, so the idea of Barry's dad making a guest appearance or two shouldn't really be a surprise.

Now, Jay Garrick? We've been given no indication at all that he would be someone we'd ever see in this series, much less in the pilot, so of course that's something they would want to keep a lid on.

If it was THE Jay Garrick I dunno why they'd use him in the pilot. If it's A Jay Garrick I could see them doing that...

What about this JWS is Jay and in the pilot we see a young Barry watching a news program or something and either the show is a Jay Garrick version of the Flash tv show or the news is interviewing Jay advertising his comic book. Thinking it's just an actor but turns out to be the Original Flash
And if the show gets picked up JWS will return as Jay to mentor Barry

It wasn't leaked. It's come from all the major outlets, they just don't know the role.

Maybe Jay Garrick is tied to the origin of Barry Allen. If Thawne went back in time not to kill his mom but Barry. How did Barry wake up blocks away? Maybe Jay is responsible for that but he's a down and out speedster cause traveling through time drained his powers.

No. Warner Brothers Television put out a press release about it and they distinctly put

Shipp will guest star in the pilot in a mystery role, with the part intended to be a recurring guest star in the series.

No further details about the role/character are being released at this time.

If he was gonna be Barry's dad I just don't get why they wouldn't have released that news in the press release.

Hmm. That is interesting but I'm still going with it being his dad. If it is his dad this will be the second father that JWS has played on the wb/cw.

It would be great if JWS is Jay Garrick. It would be a nice nod. I expect he won't wear a cereal bowl on his head though.
