Yeah this doesn't look silly at all...

Haha it's funny, the old JLA tv pilot's suit even has the logo that has the lightning longer at one end than on the other except it's the opposite way... :lmao:

Yeah that looks much better than the old Infantino design...

So your reasoning for why the bolts like silly in this context is that they have looked silly in other contexts? That makes sense. :o How about actually talking about this suit rather than posting unrelated pictures.

It's simply logical that things can be improved. If the show becomes successful, then of course they can update the suit later on.

We've already seen costume progression in Arrow. Look at Slade and Ollie's island costume, then their improved current costume.

Constantly bashing what you consider flaws is pointless and the costume isn't that bad.

Those aren't that much different than what we got. They're just longer and more forward on the head.

I think suit looks OK for a TV budget, the main problem with the suit is use of leather, they should have used the fabric completely.

The other problem is that Grant Gustin's physique, he should have got a muscle suit under the costume.

I'm fine with Grant's physique, I'm personally glad they opted for more of a distance build than a sprinter build.

I like that the suit appears to be sort of padded for Barry. You can see that the material isn't the typical spandex, leather, etc, and appears to have some protective properties. Even his gloves and boots are designed around the use of friction.

The main point of contention seems to be the symbol.

I don't think it looks, from a design standpoint, any "better" with the white symbol, just more familiar. The red circle when the rest of the costume is shades of burgundy and red actually makes more design sense when you think about it.

I actually like the little splash of gold and "Flash red" in the middle of all that crimson. It's just not his comic book look. But I think that little splash of red tells us they haven't forgotten the core of the character, despite this "darker" visual.

Yeh, the character that basically saved comics for me means **** all. Don't presume things about people you barely know. Don't put your opinions in other peoples mouths, and don't you EVER tell people how important characters are to them. You do not have that right.

Same to you. All I know is if someone professes to be a fan of something and then goes about promoting the destruction of that very thing, that says to me that that thing is NOT important to them and that they are not a fan of that thing. That's how it seems to me, that's my point if view, and that's all I'm saying and I'll leave it at that.

I think the smaller symbol is fine. It makes Gustin look bigger.

Also, I don't know why people think that a costume change is out of the question considering that nearly every live action superhero has gotten one.

...you have a statue of the flash made of bubble gum and dead bodies in your closet...don't you.

One thing is for sure, the suit is a million times better than Singers' Quicksilver, now that is the worst thing ever. I am really interested in seeing how they do his speed, hopefully it will be good and new.

That's one thing I can agree with and I think everyone can universally agree on.

My god, I just... I don't even know. You are without a doubt the most arrogant poster on the hype that isn't a troll. You don't even have the capacity to realize it either.

Rolling with change is promoting destruction?

By that definition, I am promoting the destruction of my beloved Superman by supporting the MOS suit.

So being happy with the suit is promoting the destruction of The Flash? It's not like I'm wanting Flash to suddenly be an unstopable killing machine in a nothing but a long coat and thong. That would be destruction. Liking the a suit is not.

When? Just curious when you've had a suit you like.

Umm...Spider-Man 1 & 2, TASM2, Batman '89, Tim Story's Fantastic Four, Hulk in Avengers, Mark 3 Iron Man suit in Iron Man, Thor's first film suit and Avenger's suit, Superman: The Movie suit for the most part, Silver Surfer, Joker in the '89 film...there's more but I don't feel like naming them all...

Costume progression in Arrow.

Island costume > Final island costume > Starling city costume > New bow > New Mask

Well, that's more than I expected.

But the pictures are related. I just post those because they have things that people complained about for years but are suddenly praising now because they're on a "new" suit. 8 months ago there's not a person on any board who'd have defended any aspect the JLA TV pilot suit took liberties with from the comics but now that the new TV show suit does the same crap everyone's not only defending that but also the JLA tv show suit! Bizarro world I tell ya.

Aww manlol....for a guy sick in bed this has been a source of amusement for hours

It looks better on the new suit than it does on the JLA suit. They've used the same idea but done it better.

Huh? What ones do you like then?

I thought you posted those as examples of what you like.

The ones I posted were examples of ones that look just like the new TV show suit (thank you for proving my point) that I vehemently disliked.

The ear pieces I prefer that are correct are the ones as illustrated by Ethan Van Sciver:

flash_van-sciver_3f1.jpg

He's taken what's been drawn in the comics and sometimes cartoony looking and made it look "believable" and sharp and tangible and perfect for live action. They're the comics look in their ultimate, finest form.
