I still think Alexander Skasgard has some qualities that would really mesh well with Bruce Wayne/Batman without him being simply an immitation of the ones before. He's got a little Adam West in him, a little Bale, a little Conroy but also a creepiness on True Blood I think fits perfectly with the role. He's a villain at times, but a villain you want to root for. Plus he's very tall, I think that adds to the role.

That could be interesting.

Armie Hammer is the best possible choice for Batman. He was already going to play him in JL movie, which they are going to make now.

He has the lifespan, cause by the time they make another Batman movie, he'll at least be under 35 or something. He has a voice deep, which I guess wouldn't end up like Bale's and maybe sound something like Conroy's.

And Skasgard should play Green Arrow IMO :)

Still no thanks to Hammer. He's got to prove himself as a competent actor first.

I think Hammer would be a fine choice for Batman.

Stephen Moyer for Bruce Wayne and John Malkovich as the Joker. Malkovich's scene in Transformers 3 had Joker written all over it to me. I feel as though he could be a more menacing version of Jack Nicholson's version.

Skarsgard just doesn't look like Bruce to me. And only plastic surgery would make him look like Bruce for me, though he doesn't need it.

 His face is too long and narrow. Bruce is supposed to have a smaller, wider, more square look. Skarsgard has a better look for Green Arrow. Michael Fassbender could have been a great Batman in my opinion.

After having do many comic book films already he might not want to do it but Hugo Weaving would be perfect as just about any villain. Joker, Riddler, Hugo Strange, Scarecrow. Only role he couldn't do is Bane or Catwoman. Hell, he may even be able to pull off Batman, Gordon, and Alfred too.

Armie Hammer looks too young, even if they do a sort of year one he still has very boyish looks, Batman should look like a man.

what about that, Joe Manganiello(sp?) guy, that everyone was raving about for superman...
(never really saw it myself, thought his look was abit too gritty for superman.. but gritty kinda works for batman)

though, it always seemed like people were just suggeting him for his size and build (which gained might actually be to big for batman)

don't know much about the guys acting myself (outside of Spider-man, an a few episodes of HIMYM, not exactly the best examples) but, people seems to claim he was pretty good, when suggesting for supes (or at least good enough for them to suggest him).... anyone more familiarly with his work?

Hell no to Armie Hammer. :down

As for Manganiello, I thought he'd be fine for Supes, but I doubt he could pull off the darkness for Bruce.

We need another Fassbender.

Fassbender would be good but I'd rather not have an actor that has played another iconic superhero/villain character. It reminds me of this friend I had who (literally) thought Tobey Maguire should play EVERY superhero out there... Superman, Batman, whoever. I'm serious.

However, I wouldn't be opposed to an actor that has appeared in a superhero film but not as a superhero. How about Dominic Cooper?

I'm surprised Jared Padalecki isn't suggested more. I thought I was hopping on a bandwagon there. It's admittedly hard to see him as a replacement for Bale. But if they instead did Batman on TV, like I said, he'd be a perfect fit.

I love Skarsgard, but he is Aquaman or Green Arrow.

Ben McKenzie would be my Bruce Wayne/Batman, and strangely enough when he first burst on the scene he was my choice for Terry McGinnis. But McKenzie could nail the role, and his height issue could be solved easily.

Anthony Stewart Head would be my Alfred.

Bryan Cranston is Gordon.

Your mileage may vary.

Social Network proved that for me. If it needs to be clearer, The Lone Ranger, I'm sure that'll wrap it up for the doubters.

I think to be a good successor to the Batman Begins franchise, it may be a good idea to cast a character villain actor as Jim Gordon again. If Oldman doesn't want to continue, cast Weaving as Gordon.

My thoughts:

Central Cast:

Bruce Wayne - Armie Hammer
Alfred - Michael Caine (offered to come back)
Jim Gordon - Hugo Weaving
Dick Grayson - Max Records or similar

Villains

Jervis Tech - Johnny Depp (Major Villain)
Waylon Jones - Dennis Haysbert (Minor Villain)
Harleen Quinzell - Kristen Bell (Tertiary Villain)

OR

Edward Nygma - David Tennant (Major Villain)
Pamela Isley - Isla Fisher (Minor Villain)
Floyd Lawton - Mark Wahlberg (Tertiary Villain)

OR

Victor Fries - Paul Giamatti (Major Villain)
- Liquid Nitrogen instead of a 'freeze ray'
Arnold Wesker - Jason Statham (Tertiary Villain)
Dr. Hugo Strange - Anthony Hopkins (Minor Villain)

To me Hammer looks and sounds nothing like Bruce Wayne/Batman. He's too soft looking and boyscout-like for the role. Especially coming after someone like Christian Bale, he'd be a major downgrade.

Personally I thought all of the "Justice League Mortal" cast choices were completely off, including Armie as Batman. It was like they were made by studio people that didn't understand these characters at all. Not surprised the same lackluster casting continued with RR and BL in Green Lantern.
