Well it would be even more pointless to tread on Nolan's Bat Trilogy by adding to it. There are quite a few of us who would really like to see some elements of Batman Begins changed. Why Batman: Year One? That's basically what Batman Begins was. No point in retreading territory such as that.
Also why not go somewhere different like Batman Beyond?
Besides, it's not like we're casting a real movie. Someone at WB might or might not check these boards to see what fans actually want but you don't really think any of this really matters to hollywood, do you? No.
So consider this thread kinda like a fantasy football thing. We're just giving our opinions on what we would like to see if someone ever decides to do Batman some real justice.
With that said, I'm of the mind that a well done live action tv show is a better way to go than another movie franchise conundrum. I'm not the only one on this thread or on the internet for that matter who feels this way. The idea is catching on. Think about it. This way there is more room and more time to explore alot more of Bruce's back story and training to help establish other characters in the future. Season one should very much be year one. I mean if you're going to reboot Batman as a tv series how could you not do a better adaptation of Year One? Also it can be a direct comics influenced Batman. Not just someone's loose interpretation. It doesn't have to be stuck in Nolan's ultra realism, which would allow for alot more of Batman's villains. The Joker can be permawhite again and I dare say even creepier than Ledger's Joker.
This idea also gives more room to have Batman be a loner for good while before Robin is introduced. If done very seriously, Robin doesn't have to change the tone and mood of the show. I just see endless possibilities with the idea of a live action tv series. So why not adapt Year One? Hell it doesn't have to be a direct adaptation of Year One. There can be alot of elements from Legends Of The Dark Knight added in to keep it fresh.
