He does a great Batman voice here, in Tarsem Singh's "The Fall" :

Sports a Bruce look in "A Single Man" with Colin Firth (Warning; gay undertones involving Firth's character):

Whoa. I LOVE Lee Pace. Yet even I had to dismiss him when he was suggested in the Superman threads - just didn't have "the look." But Batman? I can't believe I've never thought of that before. He's an absolutely wonderful actor with incredible range, and he does "dark" very well (he was great as one of the "In Cold Blood" killers in Infamous). Sure, he doesn't exactly look like he was ripped straight from the comics or anything, but he does have a certain old-Hollywood handsomeness that would work well for Bruce. Just dye his hair and he'd be fantastic, imo. And he's pretty tall, so if he bulked up, he could be quite intimidating:

Plus he has the perfect deep voice, too. Excellent suggestion, Captain DC.

And on the other topic, if they DO end up going for an older Batman, Jon Hamm has my vote all the way. Though I still think this guy would be great as well:

He has a knack for making dark characters very likable (sometimes more so than they deserve to be, lol).

Lee Pace would work better as Superman and Aquaman than Batman.

I say get Gabriel Macht as Bruce Wayne/ Batman. He's virtually playing that role in USA's "Suits". That would even be an example of how to do the Batman & Robin mentor relationship.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is interesting. I've really liked him since New Amsterdam and it's nice to see him on something big like Game of Thrones. He wouldn't be my first choice, but I like it.

lol that was me that suggested him for Superman, he'd be a pretty good Mr. Fantastic

Where do you find these baby face second rate actors? I said "this is batman" after seing American Psycho.Bale was quite perfect casting and its hard to top..
Not many actors look like Bruce Wayne, able to be badass in Bat suit and have amazing acting talent.

By the way,who cares if Bale is not fanboy and do it for money? Acting is not hobby,it is a job anyway. Routh & Reynolds are crappy actors. All they do is working out and smile..They are not in same league actors like Bale. If it was about being fanboy, they would choose them from SHH,not hollywood.

Here's my idea...

do the film as CG. Something in the same tone as the cinemas for Arkham City. But even more higher quality, big budget CG. Then get Kevin Conroy to voice the character.

I'd actually like to see what Lee Pace could do. Not a bad suggestion. Somewhat Neal Adams-esque.

Indeed.

Lee next to Daniel Craig, who's closer to Bale's height.

Where is that from? Because that looks nothing like Daniel Craig to me.

I'm about to open a can of worms. Again, assuming it was an older Batman story, set in a later timeline (like say you wanted to do Under the Red Hood). What about Brad Pitt. I hate to say it because it sounds cliche', but I have a feeling he'd f***ing rock.

It's the colored contacts. It's amazing how different he looks without those eyes. He and Lee Pace played the two killers that Capote wrote In Cold Blood about. Both were great.

Hey I'm down with Pitt playing Batman. He's a great actor and has shown in the past that he is very capable of playing dark and gritty and suave and debonair.

Crazy. He should go back to dark hair, maybe he'd look less ugly to me.

here's a question...

do we think with a reboot, they might try to connect it with, Man of Steel, down the line for possible crossovers...?

should we being keeping, Cavill's looks, in mind in contrast to what Bruce should look like, (or at least keep his size in mind) to how they would look together

just asking

If MOS is a success, then it seems likely WB will want Batman in the same movie universe, for an inevitable JLA movie.

With that in mind, we might get yet another Batman origin (of sorts) movie. Cause it seems less than likely he will exist yet in MOS.

I do hope that the next to helm the batfranchise, makes it more applicable to other DC Heroes. I want a Justice League movie. I like the concept of Bats and Supes being friends. I like the idea of Wonder Woman being intrigued by Batman. I'd like to see Ollie and Bats go "hunting" together. I don't think that Batman being around the "super powers" lessens his character. I believe that it will strengthen his character. If Bruce Timm and co can do it with a cartoon then why can't a live action movie?

Sam witwer for Bruce Wayne
Bryan cranston for commissioner Gordon
Brian bloom for black mask
Jon hamm or Thomas jane for Harvey dent
Benedict cumberpatch for scarecrow
Ed Norton for riddler
William fitchner for Mr. Freeze
Olivia Wilde for cat woman

I'll think of more later. Lol.

What about the mob?
Carmine Falcone: Robert de Niro
Sal Maroni: Al Pacino

@Gamma Goliath: Edward Norton as The Riddler? I can definitely see that. Good choice.
