The Dark Knight The Batpod (Verdict after the trailer)

Do you like the Batpod (after the new trailer footage)?

  • Hell yes, it's badass.

  • It's alright, but nothing special.

  • I can deal with it, but it still sucks.

  • Nolan? wtf were you thinking?

Sorry. For me this is still the ultimate Batman wheels. I mean, how is he going to avoid Joker's rocket launcher on a glorified motorcycle?

Um, because it's much more easier to dodge something on a "glorified motorcycle" than that. Just because that looks cooler (and I'll give you that) does NOT mean it's the more pratical vehicle.

The batmobile in Batman Forever was not only sleek and sexy, it could avoid rockets and scale up walls. :oldrazz:

But it looks cooler JokerGrayson.... what else is there! Lol. :woot:

The Batpod kicks ass. My 3rd favorite Bat vehicle along with the Tumbler and the '89 Batmobile.

To be honest i liked the batpod in the prologue more. I think the prologue was an absolute, meaning all the shots in the prologue are going to end up in the final film. With the trailer you can tell the most of the shots aren't gonna end up in the film; a lot of it looks like second takes, and throw away material. Nolan reluctant to show off the goods.

He's in the batmobile while joker is firing his rpg. He ends up on the bat pod (god knows how) and takes out joker's semi with the machine guns mounted on the pod.

Eh, that look never did a whole lot for me. I'm all for a "classic Batmobile" (though not in this franchise), but I was never particularly keen on the specific look featured in the Burton films.

Pretty easily, I'd imagine.

If we are talking practicality and plausibility, then the Tumbler and DKR tank are the best for the job. Actually, the Tumber is really awesome ("He is flying on rooftops")! With a small facelift, it would look a lot better. Side and front windows spoil the looks a lot!

But if we re talking sexay, then look no further than the TAS. That was the sexayiest and manliest design ever for a car!

Then Forever and last and both ugly, B89 (penis car) and B&R

I hope to god that they dont call it the "batpod."

Same here. I hope they don't call it anything in the film. I just hope Batman uses it. I hope it gets the same treatment as the tumbler. It was the batmobile, but nobody called it that. If he has to refer to the batpod he should just call it "The Cycle" or something.

But aren't the movie people already calling it that in interviews? And they called the Tumbler by name in BB.

They didn't call the tumbler the batmobile in Begins. I don't believe they used "Batsuit", "Batarangs", "bat-cape", or any of the others either. The only bat prefix that was said in the movie was batcave...and well, that's because that's what it literally was.

I love this car. Why? because it's nostalgic. But looking at it now, it's the most inefficient vehicle ever, and I would consider Batman to be an idiot if he chose THAT vehicle as his mode of transportation.

I may be alone in this, but i 100% hate the bat-pod. In every way shape and form.

It looks like an over-grown green machine. The practicality of it is....well, I for one can't think of anything yet. Nolan hasn't provided me with the answer and i hope he does in July. This thing is lame.

The destruction of the tumbler is lame. Can we not go 2 movies where Batman doesn't wreck his car? Come on now. Can't we just sacrifice Rachel instead?

And I'll continue posting this whenever I post in a bat-pod thread until the day comes (if it does as at all) that I change my mind....

Fantastic! Mainly because Cain looks hilarious there...

Is Batman then not also an idiot for dressing up in a rubber and spandex suit, jumping off buildings and refusing to fight to kill against people with guns? Batmobile and Batman are linked together... you start removing everything from a comic book story that is 'idiotic' and you end up with a guy who works in a cubicle and worries about the rent ... that's realistic, and no one wants a movie about that. (Although Office Space was awesome ;) )

This is 1.4 megs, so if it takes a second to load, just know it's completely worth it ;)

seriously, you sound like a crazy person. Nolan did a pretty ****ing good job of getting rid of comicky booky things or at least making them appear 'realistic'.

It's funny how everyone was skeptical and whiny at first only to turn around and say "IT ROX, RAWR!!!!"

Too bad the Bat-Board won't learn it's lesson, and will have to go through even MORE pre-judgment b*tching with BB3 :csad:
