There's going to be a riot on this board when Tom Hardy as Bane is revealed and he doesn't look like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Bane, if adapted properly, could be every bit as interesting and engaging a villain as the Joker was in TDK. Hardy is such a short bloke though, they'd have a lot of trouble making him look menacing next to Bale.

You mean when Bane is beating down Batman, that won't make him look menacing? Also Hardy isn't that much shorter then Bale. He's 5'9 while Bale is 6. With their respective suits, the difference can easily be overcome.

Also looking at that awesome cosplayer. I bet that little boy batmans day was made when he met the dude in a fully decked out suit. The armored suit just looks cooler. We aren't getting the skin tight spandex thing because the audience just like the armor better. Sure they can tweek the suit and what not but the armored looks is the way to go. I wan't to put on the Bale suit much more then that outfit the other dude is wearing.

But really Nolan make the damn symbol bigger. Now I see why yellow oval was put back in play. The symbol is just much easier to see over a yellow background.

See, this is why I hate it when people post fan-made costumes. Because people point to it and say "Look! That cheaply made fan convention costume looks silly! That's proof that a comic accurate costume can't be made to look good with millions of dollars to spend in an official big budget production!"

How did you come to this conclusion? The general audience has never seen anything other than rubber suits.

Have you watched Bronson? Bale is intense and all but he's got nothing on Hardy in the bat-**** insane department. I can't wait to see Bale and Hardy go at it. The intensity is gonna be nuts.

Still pissed that Hardy won't be able to take over the mantle after Bale's done though.

Save it for the inevitable reboot, good way to help distinguish itself from the Nolan Trilogy, hopefully the reboot is the Fincher Trilogy.

^See Id be down with lightening up the suit to be more grey but as far as a complete change in materials or technocloth or whatever I'd rather see it in a later series.

Well, this may the Batsuit thread, but I figure we might as well talk about Bane's costume in here as well.

I was thinking about Bane's mask and how they could do something like the Bat-cowl for it, or just a customized ski mask or whatever else, and I was thinking one of those armoured tactical masks might work well. Bane's never really had a solid reason for wearing a mask--he has no identity to protect--and while I'm perfectly happy to assume it's simply a weird eccentricity, I'm also onboard with giving it a practical function, so a tactical mask works in that respect. If you've played Army of Two or if you watch 24, you know what I'm talking about (Jack wore one in the final season).

This is sort of what I was thinking:

Bane's not the Joker, he isn't careless about his own life, so I think he's someone who logically should be properly equipped for dealing with cops and mobsters. Put him in some tactical gear, like a flak jacket, and I think that's probably a good direction to go.

Haha, well, I think a faithful crack at Bane's hood would work just fine (or in any of the ways I mentioned above), but as for his mexican wrestling tights... Yeah, let's ditch those. Also? Ditch them in the comics, too.

The mask is important, though. I love the mask. They don't even need to go 'realistic" with it, really. It doesn't have to be a faceplate like my example above. A simpler, stylized hood could work as well, so long as they sell it properly.
