The Clinton Thread II - Part 3

Of course. Good thing I didn't vote at all. Not after the kind of s**t the DNC pulled in the primaries to push Turd down our throat.

Ok, so you have no right to complain/praise at all then.

Well, congratulations on what ya got then, good job.

Of course I do. The candidate I voted for was absolutely annihilating Donald Trump (and all the other Republican candidates) in every single national poll by double digits months ago and that lead was increasing more and more every day. We kept shouting off the top of our lungs that if Bernie wins the nomination, his win in the general election is pretty much sealed but if they go with Hillary Clinton, then Trump would win by monopolizing all the populist anger in the country. The DNC and the mainstream media smeared us as hippies, dreamers, idealists and even sexists. You think I'm not going to brag now that everything we warned them about turned out true? Hell yeah I'm going to scream "I told you so!" in their faces over and over again.

We didn't want Trump. We just didn't want to vote for Hillary. The only ones who are happy for getting Trump are the ones who actually voted for him. Those of us who abstained simply don't get to complain about him.

But you will take the heat for what he does. You knew what could keep Trump out of office (voting for Hillary) and chose not to.

Risky game.

Cutting your nose to spite your face...

That's what the Hillary camp was counting so much on - that fear mongering about a Trump presidency would intimidate us into holding our nose and voting for her, that's why she took us for granted and instead focused on courting Republican donors. So no, your analogy is incorrect.

We kept shouting off the top of our lungs that if Bernie wins the nomination, his win in the general election is pretty much sealed but if they go with Turd Sandwich, then *****e would win by monopolizing all the populist anger in the country. Hell yeah I'm going to scream "I told you so!" in their faces over and over again.

But the root outcome of this election is that you didn't want Trump to be elected, which you didn't contribute to.

You're way too close to the situation to be able to dispassionately analyze it. You're assuming Donald Trump is concerned with keeping America a functioning democracy, he's a fascist, and he controls all branches of power now. You have an unpredictable psychopath with zero checks or balances mitigating his conduct.

The scope of what he can do is limited by his imagination, the damage Clinton could have done would have been limited by due democratic process.

Then going by that logic the rest of the world can also hold all Americans accountable for 2 terms of the Bush presidency, the Iraq, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan quagmires and just about every foreign policy blunder in modern history. If you think that is right or even fair, then congratulations, you have accepted half of Al-Qaeda's sales pitch - that Americans deserve to pay for the sins of their government.

That is why I am not complaining about how much of a disaster Trump will be for this country. I know he will be and if that is a cost I have to for bragging about being right all along, then so be it.

No kidding. Trump's election will only embolden the racists and the xenophobes even more and we're going to see a dramatic surge in hate crimes in the following months. It is a bad time to be a Latino or a Muslim in the U.S right now.

or Black

My problem with people who didn't vote is that they didn't vote on any of the down ballot stuff either, so not only did Trump win, but Republicans now have the House and Senate, so there are no checks. And this is someone who desperately needs those checks, because I see him absolutely threatening and bullying republicans into giving him everything he wants.

He and his people have already said (last night actually) that they're going to remember the names of every Republican that didn't fall in step with him and that there will be consequences.

I don't care which party it is, that kind of thing scares the hell out of me, and should be prevented no matter who gets elected. Now queue up that Easy Street song, please.

So being right is more important than the country's well-being??

good good.

You have to look at the demographics of this...

Yes, you have 1 group (and had that group been alone, Clinton would be President) that group is the White, Male/Female rural, suburban vote that has never voted before (hence why they were not counted in all of these polls), they came out of nowhere in the states that Trump needed, in just the amount of votes to push the electoral count his way). *shrugs shoulder* who knew?

But, the 3 demographics that were forgotten by the CLINTON CAMPAIGN, and one of those WAS NOT FORGOTTEN by the Trump campaign at just the right time? is what won this election for Trump.

Group #1: Bernie supporters, the Clinton campaign never gave them a second look, they thought they would follow the party line. THESE WERE YOUNG, COLLEGE EDUCATED 20 AND 30 SOMETHINGS, they don't follow, they walk beside, and the Clinton Campaign left them behind. They did not vote....

Group #2: Those that came out in huge amounts for the Obama Coalition, the black, urban voters of the "Blue Wall States"...the Clinton campaign paid them little attention. They did not vote....

Group #3: White, blue collar union workers of the rust belt, the Clinton Campaign paid them little attention, and Trump at the right moment DID, stayed on point, and got just enough of that normally SOLID DEMOCRAT VOTE to turn his way....

You take those that did not vote at all (but voted for Obama), and those that normally vote Democrat (voted for Obama) but went for Trump this go around because of jobs lost and Clinton did not seem to care.... and add those to this crazy new voter from rural, white Suburban America, and you have a narrow win by someone like Trump.

yup:o

If more than half the country voted that fascist into power, then it is not my job to worry about the consequences. The sane American voter is not obligated to protect the country from the stupidity of the masses. About time they get what they asked for and realize that the buffet they were being promised was actually a s**t sandwich all along. A Trump presidency will be disastrous for everyone one way or another, including for his supporters.

It seems even the 'educated' voters in this country are uneducated politically and are easily coerced by Media misdirection. And lazy as ****.

Educated my ass.

Wasn't the media telling everyone to vote for Clinton?

So you're effectively completely devoid of any compassion or sense of self preservation? If Trump decides to start stacking undesirables on funeral pyres by the mllions those who stood idly by have no complicity? And you're just going to fall in line, or be dealt with yourself?

Nihilists aren't very good people to invovle in political discourse then if they're fine seeing the world go to hell in a little rubber boat. And all for some perceived sense of self righteous virtue? That sounds pathetically juvenile.

You just have a serious penchant for punishment if you're willing to endure the ills of a Trump presidency just to "prove a point" or satisfy some sense of morality.

There's still the possibility that Hillary gets a phone call at 4 am on January 3, 2017, from a tearful Trump begging her to come over and help him govern because he's way over his head.

The media that treated the final E-mail leaks like she just had a ******** with 12 terrorists?

Stop your liberal exaggerations, it was more like 9 terrorists, tops.

I was talking about the Washington Post, NY Times, LA Times, Baltimore Post, Houston Chronicle, New York Daily News, Dallas Morning News, just to name a few.

I only hope Trump is full of bluster and hot air and is not as bad as he makes himself appear. It might not be the best hope, but its the only hope I have left.

I have a feeling Pence will be the real President and Trump will do almost nothing.

So what do think will happen to Hillary now? The Clinton machine turned out to be a dud and the Dems need to start from scratch.
