The Clinton Thread II

Given how terrible she and her team are at campaigning for President, this wouldn't surprise me.

As I said I could be wrong about this but it basically gives her a chance to change the subject from emails to her comments. In that case she can explain how that number is low(ie 50% of 14M is only 7M people) then start talking about these supporters(alt right) that are pushing Trump up. I am guessing Clinton will be more then happy to make the subject of discussion be Trump supporters

it's much easier to rag on racists(50% of "Trump Supporters"(something which isn't defined yet)) then Poor People(47% of the entire country)

And lets not forget the number of groups of racists, bigots, white supremacists and hate preachers who have come out publicly to support Trump. Or that 60% of Trump supporters believe Obama is a Muslim.

she ain't all that wrong folks

we aren't as forward thinking and progressive as we'd like to think we are

Is Hillary Clinton Right About Trump Supporters? This Is What The Polling Data Says

A survey taken this May found that about two-thirds of Trump supporters believe Obama is a Muslim.
The same poll found 59 percent of Trump supporters believe Obama was not born in the United States.

A national poll of 2000 people taken in January by YouGov found that one-third of Trump supporters believe the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, one of the most shamefully racist programs in American history, was a good idea.

Clinton also mentioned homophobia. A PPP poll of South Carolina voters in February found that a substantial portion supported banning LGBT people from the United States.
In the same poll, 16 percent of Trump supporters admitted they believed that “whites are a superior race,” while an additional 14 percent said they were “not sure.”

The national YouGov poll from January found that 20 percent of Trump supporters disagreed with Lincoln’s signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed southern slaves.
Its worth a read

My god guys, it doesn't matter if the point is arguable or not. You don't ****ing attack millions of people directly as deplorable, you attack the damn candidate. Attacking your fellow citizens like that is campaign suicide.

The people she was attacking were never going to vote for her anyway.

Yes and no. She's betting people don't want to be associated with racists, homophobes, and sexists.

Why would she bet against herself? :oldrazz:

This comes up so often that it's practically a party platform.
If this her latest against Trump of all his other bigger fumbles since Wednesday,
this is serious.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of Wednesday

-------------------------------------------------------------

On RealClearPolitics, there's currently a 2.7 difference between the two.

-------------------------------------------------------------

This also continues to plague her.

And this....

One difference is that Romney trashed 47% of the people, but in Hillary's case let's say Trump polls at 40-45% she is only trashing 20-22.5% of people who won't vote for her anyways. Romney basically said that those 47% were a lost cause, Hillary is saying that 20-22.5% are a lost cause, while 20-22.5% are worth fighting for

The issue I have is Romney's statement was saying look we aren't going to win these people's votes so it's an uphill battle. It wasn't so much a judgement on those people but the way the Democrats operate to gain voters and how the Republican message of low taxes doesn't connect and why the election will be challenging. The issue I have with her statement is that she called these people "irredeemable". I think we've seen attitudes change in this country over time and people can change. They aren't "irredeemable" they are grossly wrong and ignorant but that can change. A leader of this country needs to be uplifting and send a positive message not just write off a whole group of people as scum that can't change.

This is also the second time she's done something like this, remember when she said she was proud to call Republicans her enemies? You know the democratically elected representatives of the majority of the country....

This election is just flat out depressing.

The main issue I had with Romney's 47% is many of these people he was putting down Vote Republican. Alot of these people not being taxed(at least at a Federal level) are old people on social security, veterans, disabled people that still may for Republicans. Seems like Romney didn't have a grasp how his base were and wanted to paint it like all 100% of these 47% are somehow Democrat. He basically was pandering to a bunch of rich people and didn't want this comment to be heard beyond closed doors.

No matter how much you hate certain groups of people, Hillary basically went against what Obama said after Romney's comments came out:

Barack Obama ✔ @BarackObama
RT if you agree: We need a President who is fighting for all Americans, not one who writes off nearly half the country.

But she is not writing off half the country unless you believe that 100% of the country is Trump Supporters

You still don't so callously generalize and then write off a certain population of the country that you are going to have to govern over. No amount of moral grandstanding makes what she did right. This is what makes her a cruddy, unlikable politician.

"Mexicans are sending their rapists!" He tells it like it is. Quit being so PC!

"Half of the Trump supporters are racist!" She's not fit to lead!

Given all the crap Hillary gets from the right they deserve it. Let's be honest here when Romney made his comment he had a good shot of winning many of the people he called out, in Hillary case she called out people that have 0 chance of voting for her.

This is perfect

Lol, the "guilt by association" pissing contest returns.

The lack of tolerance coming from the supposedly tolerant group is just amazing. The fact you (and many others) can't even see or understand how wrong what she did was just shows how blinded people are by their political beliefs. It's no wonder why I don't spend as much time in the political forums as I used to, especially with the bunch of "geniuses" we have talking nearly non-stop.

How is it freaking guilt by association when you hire god damn Ailes and Bannon for your campaign?

Why do we need tolerance for racists, sexists, and homophobics?

I love how the right is painting as the same as Romney's 47% comment. Yet when he made that comment I don't remember any of them saying he should be disqualified.

Also, Trump makes these kind of comments EVERY DAY but as always, he's graded on a curve.

Again, Romney was talking about the campaign and how it will function and it got taken out of context. When he said it isn't my job to worry about these people he was speaking as far as his strategy to win the election not that he shouldn't care about them as President.

Hillary flat out said that a percentage of the electorate is deplorable and can't be helped.

I don't think it's untrue. Survey after survey of Trump supporters reveal how intolerant they are of other cultures, ethnicities, and lifestyles.

Neither are fit to lead. What Trump says is obviously worse, but unfair or not I hold Clinton to a higher standard since she's actually been in public office and has been a public servant.

Given all the crap Hillary gets from the right they deserve it.

Should a President be that petty? I don't think that's a good quality in a leader and is something Trump is often criticized justly for.

Why do we need tolerance for racists, sexists, and homophobics?

I already explained how the 47% comment is a different statement. He was talking about campaign strategy and how to best use campaign resources by targeting certain groups. Hillary flat out said a certain percentage of the population are deplorable and can't be helped. We don't need to tolerate racists, sexists and homophobes but we shouldn't give up on trying to change their hearts and minds. We shouldn't completely write them off.

Whoever decided that was a good statement for Hillary to make on the campaign trail needs to be fired. As some have posted, right or not, it is essentially going really against the message she has been trying to send in regards to her being on a different level than Trump. That statement is a churched up version of some dumb crap Trump would say. Even if it is a calculated way of re-directing attention from the emails (which she needs to address since she was cleared of wrongdoing) it would be something that should have been said by a surrogate.

Bottom line is when you're opponent is doing his damnedest to divide the nation she should be taking every action to bring it together.

I've got to agree with this. The painful lack of self-awareness from a lot of liberals at the moment is almost hilarious in its contradiction. The level of thoughtlessly partisan "input'' from both sides is rather tiresome.
