The Clinton Thread II

It gets even more disgusting:

http://nypost.com/2015/04/26/charity-watchdog-clinton-foundation-a-slush-fund/

2013:
$140 million in donations but only $9 million was spent in actual aid...6%.

I wouldn't put much stock in the NY Post.

Clinton Foundation was given an A rating by Charity Watch, an independent website. That website has more stringent criteria and evaluates multiple documents, including audits, IRS forms and consolidated financial statements. According to them, 12% went to overhead, while the remaining 88% went to the programs.

Yeah they don't break anything down other than saying 88%. New York Post reviewed tax filings...

On its 2013 tax forms, the most recent available, the foundation claimed it spent $30 million on payroll and employee benefits; $8.7 million in rent and office expenses; $9.2 million on “conferences, conventions and meetings”; $8 million on fundraising; and nearly $8.5 million on travel. None of the Clintons is on the payroll, but they do enjoy first-class flights paid for by the foundation.

They took in $140m. That's 46% overhead just right there. That's way more than 12%.....

I'm not quite up on the tax laws and form for non-profits, but I am a bit aware of non-profit accounting. But it is quite possible for a good chunk of that $140 million to not be accessible. That $140 million received doesn't even have to be cash or physical assets.

It says in the article how much were pledges and not cash on hand.

For all the hullabaloo the GOP is making about the Clinton Foundation and the emails, there is no smoking gun. Huma Abedin was the go-between for HRC and she got inundated with requests to meet with Clinton, and she rebuffed them.

Also, the Clinton Foundation has bipartisan support from both sides of the aisle. Hell, Trump and the head of Newsmax (one-time critic of Bill Clinton) made donations.

Where is the proof?

There isn't any and the GOP are scrambling to make Hillary as despicable as Trump. Hillary is no saint and has plenty of skeletons in her closet, but it seems like the GOP tends to pull on the wrong thread.

It's a pity that she isn't a better orator. This is a pretty good evisceration of Trump.

It's a good speech though. Lays out all of Trump's madness. We all know this though. Trump's racism isn't a little known fact.

The comments must have been disabled. What were the Trumpeteers saying?

I mistook the chat for comments. I didn't read them, I just saw a flash of one word insults.

Best speech Hillary has given in a while. She eviscerates Trump and the Tea Party in one fell swoop.

It was a great speech, as much aimed at telling the Republicans to take back their party as anything else.

Twenty years ago, when Bob Dole accepted the Republican nomination, he pointed to the exits and told any racists in the party to get out.
The week after 9/11, George W. Bush went to a mosque and declared for everyone to hear that Muslims “love America just as much as I do.”
In 2008, John McCain told his own supporters they were wrong about the man he was trying to defeat. Senator McCain made sure they knew: Barack Obama, he said, is an American citizen and a decent person.
We need that kind of leadership again.
We can have our disagreements and believe me I understand that. I think that's healthy. We need good debates. But we need to do it in a respectful way, not finger pointing and blaming and stirring up this bigotry and prejudice.

Just read the full transcript, great speech. Will watch a replay at home if it's available. But can you guys imagine an orator like Obama giving this speech? The election would be over in a landslide.

Very good. This is definitely the angle to go for.

Was this her alt-right speech, or is that coming up later?

Hillary's getting better. She's not talking as loudly into the microphone, and there's true passion and delivery of those words.

I'm pretty much sold on her as a candidate after this speech.
