Thanks a lot. I'd originally meant for him to be a much funnier character, but this half-comic/half-serious thing I've got going feels a little more natural. Glad you like it.

New posts coming up soon. I'll be getting a Shadow Walker post up sometime this weekend, possibly tonight, and another Icon post as soon as time (and arc) permits.

Speaking of which...BL, check your PM's and get back to me :D

Hey guys, internet's been down for the last two days but it's back now. I got a Madlove post ready and I'll be putting it up shortly.

As *****y as it makes me feel, I must drop out of this RPG. As you all may have noticed, my participation has dwindled into nothingness. I wish you all luck, and I may return some day.

I apologize for my inactiveness...stuff hasn't been going great with me which makes it hard to write Michael. I will try to see what comes to mind this week though. :csad:

Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Hate to lose you, but it's ok. Hope you can come back sometime

And I thought since I kinda mentioned it in my last IC post, I thought I might want to mention here for those of you that may not know, Icon was a high school teacher for most of last season before giving it up.

getting back to the name for the super team...I was looking over some of the suggestions and I did find one that sounded pretty good...

Gaurdian Legion which was proposed by Superboy-CK. What do you guys think?

I like Blacklight and the Blackies. Racist AND catchy! :woot:

..... Okay maybe not. Although how about the Cabal of Heroes?

His body hurts. Battered and beaten from years of fighting in war torn hell holes with no name. Fighting battles which weren't his own, killing men who's faces disappeared from his mind as fast as their blood spilled to the dirt.

He sits here now, on the edge of a grime covered bed in a back alley slum apartment, not because he has to, but because he chooses to. Rich from murder and death, he refuses to spend it on luxury, rather the money goes to a better cause... be it taking trash from the darkness covered streets as a masked vigilante, or sending anonymous cheques to the various charities of Lost Haven and beyond.

In his hands he cradles a bottle of Jack and an empty glass. It's been filled and drained more times than he cared to count already this vening but he was still stone cold sober. From the darkness he could feel the swords calling him, their power beckoning him to hold them, to caress them, to wield them and feed them with the blood of the damned.

Cade rose and walked to the window, looking out into the city. Mostly it was quiet. Cold and dead apart from a distant siren here and there.

But still they called.

Cade sighed and rested the almost empty bottle on top of an old dresser and fixed his face mask into place. Reverentially he hefted the double sheath containing his favorite weapons. They sang to him now, soothing and caring, he could feel it in the pit of his soul.

"Where you going?"
It was the voice of his daughter, raven haired and beautiful. Gentle and delicate. The opposite of her father.

"Out" came the gruff retort.

She saw the bottle on the dresser. "Have you been drinking again?" There was concern in her voice, she hated him drinking.

"Leave it. I don't need this right now",
his back was to her, his frame silhouetted.

She noticed the silver of his hair shining in the moonlight. "No. Not as much as you need to be out there killing".

"GOD DAMMIT ERIN"
he roared, swinging around to face her. "This city needs Scythe. This city would ****ing crumble withot me out there!"

She sighed softly and pushed past him, grabbing the bottle herself but not drinking it. Cade knew the leftovers were destined to be poured down the drain. "Yeah, the city might need Scythe, dad. But that's not what it's about is it? Not because the city needs him, but because you need him".

Cade turned and climbed from the window, grasping onto the fire escape outside. "We'll talk about this later" he mumbled before disappearing into the night.

Create a Hero RPG SEASON II Application

Character you have created: Vengeance

Alias: Moses Stone

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): Century Gothic, Dark Red, Bold

Character Alignment: Walking the Line

Identity:Secret

Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations): Ruthless, Aggressive and cold. Vengeance is merciless in how he handles criminals, believing in his own power to make criminals suffer the same crimes they themselves have commited. "An eye for an eye" pretty much sums up his take on the world.

Origin Info/Details: Moses Stone was a small time cop based in Lost Haven. After participating in a drugs bust at the home of crime boss Salvatore Fontaine, he was responsible for the accidental shooting of Fontaines daughter. Salvatore was locked away in maximum security but his two sons walked free. Stone instantly became earmarked by Fontaine Brothers and a month later he returned home from a long night shift to find both his sons and his wife hanging in his garage.

A note was stapled to the head of his wife, "Kindest Regards, The Fontaines."

Stone lost it, heading out into the night to confront the two sons but it was an ambush. In the rain soaked streets he was gunned down, but still alive. Lying in a pool of rainwater and blood Stone was alive long enough to feel his limbs being hacked away by the Fontaine brothers.

It was upon his death that Moses was blinded by blackness. He was told that he was he last in a bloodline spreading back across thousands of years. His ancestory was that of the Dark Light, a dark mystic power that transformed the wielder into a demonic form, into an Angel of Vengeance.

Stone was ressurected, his body flowing with the Dark Light. His mission; to take the souls of the damned and bring them to task for their crimes.

Hero Type (Select one):Supernatural

Power Level (Select one below):City Level

Powers (Be Specific): When Moses Stone changes into Vengeance he has the power of flight. Dark blade-like wings sprout from his back upon command and can be retraced back in, disappearing from sight and merging back into his spinal column. He also has the power of Dark Light which is a dark energy that can be channelled and shot from his hands or wielded with the use of a dual bladed lance he carries with him. The blades extend from the handle and retract when not in use. He also comes equipped with superhuman strength, a healing factor and agility.

Attributes (Select one at each category):

Strength Level: 20

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 20

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 4

Agility: Normal Human

Intelligence: Average

Fighting Skill: Trained

Resources: Average

Weaknesses: Whilst having a healing factor, Vengenace is still vunerable to all forms of attack, with heavier artillery, grenades and sufficiently strong enery blasts taking their toll on him.

Supporting Characters: Salvatore Fontaine, the mortal enemy of Vengeance and the man who ordered the hit on Moses. Debbie Stone, Moses' wife. Cameron Austin, Professor of Dark Arts and advisor to Stone. Billy Maige, Stones former partner and best friend.

List a few reasons why you've created that character: He's dark, creepy and in the vain of Ghost Rider, Spawn and other cool mystical characters.

What can you bring to the RPG?: I hate this question so...ummmm... new characters :/

Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):

It was upon these rain lashed streets that I found out who I truly was. I lay just a few feet from here, where the prying eyes of the law could not see. It was a place of filth, of grime and deviance. My lifeblood was soaking the slick black concrete of the road below. Splashing against a cigarette packet and a used condom that had become lodged on the bars of a drain cover.

For a long time I had believed that my life was worth something. I believed that the job I did was making a difference. Nowadays, I can say with a large amount of certainty that those beliefs were a ****ing joke.

The Fontaines. I can still see the sneering faces of those slimy little ****ers as they hacked off my arms, right before I bled to death. There time will come. Now though, I'm stood facing another just like them. He was in on it too. Just an errand boy with a squishy face and a look in his eye like he's about to piss his pants. He's just as guilty.

"Where are the Fontaines?" I ask, my voice a growl through gritted teeth.

"I-I don't know man! I really don't know!" He's squeaking, his voice scraping into a higher pitch as his life flashes before him.

"Tell me."

"I can't. They'll kill me! they'll ****in' kill me!"

I slam him into a wall, my fingers tightening against his jugular. I can feel him gulping for air as I lift him from his feet. "No they won't. Because I'm going to kill you. So how about before you swallow your last breath you do something worthwhile and decent with your life and condemn those mother****ers?"

"I-I can't! Please -oh God please- I got a wife man, kids too! Please!" He was crying.
Oh, and he'd finally pissed his pants. Pathetic bastard was loyal to a tee though.

"Yeah, I had a family too. Until you and your buddies came along. You want to know where my boys are? My boys are rotting in wooden six feet under the ground. Innocent children dead because of you mother ****ers. NOW TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE!"
My fingers tighten, pushing against his flesh, bursting blood vessels.

"Oh God -they're- you can find 'em in their club, Blue Coyote, it's a strip bar down in south LH, they're in their mosty nights. Please don't kill me... please... pl-"

I snap his neck with a violent twist and fling his body into the trash. Even that is too good a resting place for this worthless piece of ****. cracking my knuckles I turn into an alleyway and tense my body, wings sprout from my spine, bursting out of flesh and stretching out. Without effort I take to the darkness of the skies.

I'm an angel.

They call me Vengeance.

Ack, I've just seen how few villains this RPG has. Remove Scythe from the roster, I'll play Vengeance as walking the line and come up with a new villain soon enough.

Well, with an over abundance of heroes, I'm dropping Scythe and adding some extra life into our villains roster. Hope y'all like.Create a Hero RPG SEASON II Application

Character you have created: Michael Carmine
Alias: Death-Charge

Speech Color : Franklin Gothic Medium Dark Blue

Character Alignment: Villain

Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations): Michael Carmine is a man of wealth and power. He is a ruthless businessman, a charismatic leader and a well known public figure. When he dons his suit though, he becomes the insatiable technological phsycopath, bent on chaos and destruction. Some of the worlds best scientists led by Carmine himself created Volt-Tech, a system capable of creating, producing and providing enough power to a city that would take ten years of burning fossil fuels to produce. Harnessing such a mighty technical marvel led Carmine to become paranoid, angry and unsociable. Carmine didn't want to limit Volt-Tech to energy provisions, he wanted to extend its power into building a new generation of weaponry, making him the most powerful man alive.

Secretly he created a battle-suit that harnessed just a fraction of the Volt-Tech. With the idea that he would sell these battle-suits to the military. However, the power of the suit only enhanced his paranoia and Carmine found himself falling into a deep physcosis, convinced that everyone else was out to get him. Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):

The crowd gathered in the atrium were wild with anticipation. In front of them stood a podium, flanked by a huge spherical object, coverd in red velvet cloth. They knew that the news they were about to hear would change everything. Assorted press, politicians, members of the industry and even rivals gathered to await the announcement.

Carmine looked down upon them from his office whilst his personal secretary fastened his tie in place. An Armani suit jacket slid into place upon his shoulders and he was ready.

Stepping out of his office he was met by his fellow scientists, by members of the board and by his daughter. He smiled softly and held out an arm for her. With a grin she lid her arm through his and they began to make their way down to the press conference.

As the entourage settled into the elevator that would take them to the conference, Erin Carmine broke the uneasy silence. "You scared Pop?"

"Scared? sweetheart, this is going to be the second best day of my life. I've never been more scared. Everything... everything depends on this announcement."

Erin turned and looked up into her fathers face. "The second? If an unveiling that will change the way the entire world works is only second, what the hell is the first?"

Carmine smiled and kissed his daughters brow. "The day you were born".

Erin chuckled and blushed a little. Michael Carmines heart swelled with love and pride at her delicate smile. The elevator pinged and the doors swept open revealing a sea of flashing cameras and expectant faces.

"Wish me luck", Carmine muttered, making his way onto the podium.

The crowd clapped their approval and the cameras flashed once more. Carmine cleared his throat and rose a hand, beckoning the crowd to settle.

"Ladies and Gentleman, thank you for being here today. As you all know, Volt Industries has long been a trailblazeing enterprise. We have led the field in every area we have ventured into. We have moved forward industries, technologie and armaments in ways no other company could or would. We are at the very pinnacle of excellence in every area.

"And none of this could have been done without the unerring support of our sponsers, of the government, of my spectacular employees who consistently raise the bar with their brilliance. But most of all none of this could have been done without the consistent support of the public.

Today, Volt Industries would like to announce an evolution in the way our homes, our offices and our cities are powered. Today we ring the death knell for unsusainable fossil fuels. We drop the curtain on volatile nuclear power. Today we give you the future of not only this company, but of the modern world.

"Ladies and Gentleman, I would like to present to you the future of the worlds energy sources".

The crowd gasped as the red velvet curtain dropped and revealed a monsterous throbbing globe of blue energy.

"I give you VOLT-TECH!"

Optikal, you're approved for both of those.

Sorry I haven't been on much the last couple of days, we had some bad thunderstorms the other night, and I also hurt my back so sitting at a computer has been tough. But my back is feeling a bit better, so I should be around more after tonight

Edit. Not happy with this so I'm taking it off to do some serious editing.

Hey guys, sorry for my inactivity for the last few days. In case you missed my post in the bulletin board thread, I'll repost it here. I'm (slowly) getting better, still not able to sit up for long periods yet...

I haven't been as active the last few days because I reinjured my back and I haven't been able to stay upright for very long...so that limits my ability to post or basically do anything for that matter.

The good news is it seems to be getting better, so hopefully everything will be back to normal in the next day or so.

I'm still trying to get online when I can, so if you have any questions for me regarding the SW game, or the CAH game, drop me a PM or ask in the OOC threads and I'll get back to you asap.

Hopefully I'll be back to normal by the end of the week, but back injuries are a funny thing...I'm still around, I try to check the OOC and IC threads once a day, as well as my pm's. Just be patient with me while I get better, and I'll be back in full force ASAP.

Oh. It's time.

Create a Hero RPG SEASON II Application

Character you have created: Sean Abbott
Alias: Mantis

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): Green Tahoma (Sean) / Bold Green Tahoma (Mantis)

Character Alignment: Hero

Identity: Secret

Character Personality: Sean is still young enough to be pretty idealistic. He truly believes in a world where evil is always punished and good always prevails. He's dedicated to his 'work' as Mantis, and nothing can sway him from the mission. At the same time, though, he doesn't allow himself to get too serious. He can appreciate the fact that he's dressing up in green tights and beating on thugs. There's humor in that, and Sean embraces it.

Origin Info/Details: Sean was born with latent genetic mutations, but they were unactivated. One day, after smoking, chemicals in his bloodstream jumpstarted those mutations. Sean's abilities manifested, and it freaked him out - naturally. He was more than content with trying to live a normal life, but when tragedy struck home (in the form of his girlfriend's accidental death) Sean realized that life was too short. If he could do something to save other people his pain, he would. Thus started Mantis.

Hero Type: Acrobat

Power Level: 2. City Level

Powers: Enhanced reflexes, increased agility, increased flexibility, super-jumping, superstrength, ability to stick to walls, enhanced eyesight and hearing, bone-like blades that extend from his forearms.

Attributes:

Strength Level: 20 tons.

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 60 MPH.

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 3 hours.

Agility: 15X Human level.

Intelligence: Average.

Fighting Skill: Trained.

Resources: Minimal.

Weaknesses: Sean's a high school kid. His life is already crazy enough without the superpowers and the crimefighting. As such, he can have a hard time juggling everything. Also, if his enemies were to ever learn his identity, so much of Sean's life would be at stake. Like most heroes, Sean is determined to save lives - even at the cost of letting the bad guy get away.

Supporting Characters: Sean's closest confidant is his best friend, Jim Harrison, who also happens to know Sean's secret. Sean's girlfriend, Brooke McFadden, does not know his secret - which can get Sean into trouble. For some time, Sean has tried to rekindle a friendship with Vince Daniels - an old friend who hasn't had much time for anything other than school. On the flipside, Sean has been trying to get away from Marilyn Freel, a possessive ex-girlfriend with a serious attitude problem. Sean also has another friend, Abby Smith, who moved away six years ago. Sean is very close with his sister, Vicky, as well.

Mantis's contact in the Carver Lake Police Department is Sergeant Hampton. The two have a tenuous partnership which helps keep Mantis out of the police's crosshairs.

List a few reasons why you've created that character: Truth be told? Mantis was my personal version of Spider-Man. I wanted to make a superhero character, and not intentionally - though not accidentally - I created one with all the typical Spider-Man traits: youth, humor, bad luck, spider-like powers. However, I've since realized that I love Mantis for Sean and his supporting cast more than his alterego. Sure, he's still a superhero, and I still have fun with that, but it's his interactions with his friends and family that I really enjoy.

What can you bring to the RPG?: Intricate coming-of-age stories with realistic characters at the heart. Oh, and I'll kick some criminal butt now and again, too.

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:

I need a theme song.

Okay, okay, it seems like a silly thing to be thinking about while I'm running around the city at night, but - I mean - c'mon! Tell me it wouldn't be sweet to have a theme song? Like, any minute now, some crime's going to break out, and you know what my grand entrance will be? I'll just show up. If I'm in the mood, I might throw out a quick one-liner. But that's it! Whereas if I had a theme song, I could burst onto the scene!

Man, I am so bored. Is this really what I'm thinking about? Theme songs? I have a chemistry test at the end of the week, and I'm trying to reword showtunes to incorporate the words 'Mantis,' 'crime,' and 'dreamy?' Well, Sean, I'm glad to see you have your priorities straight! I mean, it's not like your alien friend came to you and warned you of impending doom.

Oh, wait. Yes. Yes, she did. I have an alien friend, and she warned me of impending doom. As you can probably imagine, it was quite the upbeat reunion. Would I have preferred to discuss who we'd want to win American Idol instead? Of course! But it wouldn't be a day in the life of Sean Joseph Abbott if there wasn't impending doom!

"Wow. I am bored," I announce aloud. "For the love of all that is good and holy, please let there be a crime to stop."

Wait. What's that? Sirens? Oh, boy! Sirens!

That's probably wrong of me to say, right? Oh well! It gives me something to do! I look to the heavens, point, and say, "Guess I owe you one, Buddy."

how many characters can we have? Because there is a villain i have been thinking of.

Sample Post:

A frickin' proved

Glad to have Mantis back
