The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

Wow. I thought I was a mess, but my friend's acquaintance makes me look as calm as @flickchick85 in comparison.

I just heard that my friend's acquaintance canceled her tickets for her Superman screening due to the current RT score. Her so called logic was that she didn't need to see a Superman movie that scored lower than Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad.

People like that are outliers

I pity people who can’t form their own opinions.

In this case, I think it's also a matter of pride. My friend mentioned that her acquaintance felt somewhat insulted that "Superman" is now tied with Gunn's lowest reviewed comic book property (GOTG 3). She was essentially hoping for the second coming of Superman in the cinema.

And GOTG3 was his best movie. So what does that tell you?

GOTG3 is the best MCU movie and it’s not close. Love 2, think 1 is cute but by far the weakest - it’s crazy to me there are people who think it’s the best. Apart from the crazy amount of charm it hit with when it was fresh and new.

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't think it's close between them. GOTG3 was a top 5 MCU film ever

That's interesting to hear. I do think that GOTG 3 is the darkest chapter from the trilogy.

Given some of the issues that I've heard people having with this film, I'm starting to wonder whether Gunn would've done better if he didn't spread himself so thin.

By a country mile!

FYI, I did read how a lot of the Snyder Zealots are claiming that this film's RT score will fall into the mid 70's by the end of its run.

Assuming that it does happen, would you see it as a loss if that group is proven right in any way?

Mid 70s is still a good a score. Sure, 80 is obviously better. But mid 70s is still more than fine

Ok, we are out. Started kinda slow but picked up quickly. My wife squealed loudly at one scene. We both loved it. 8/10.
Oh, and Lex. Best Lex I've ever saw on the big screen. I still like MR as Lex better.

When are you putting your review up? Most importantly what did you think of Lex. Really looking forward to your thoughts.

Nah we got a good Supes movie and a broken clock is right twice a day, I could not care less about those peeps at this point. Just need to get over that last hurdle to financial success so we get our sequel! :legacy:

Wouldn't that still be higher than Man Of Steel's RT score?

The start of Superman was such a jolt. Reminded me of the start of Saving Private Ryan in a way. Chef’s kiss Mr. Gunn. Wished you didn’t use it for the sneak peek though but understand why you did.

... It's on 83%? That's objectively a great score. Batman Begins is barely above it and it's a genre classic. Even if it goes high-70's, we're still in great shape, plenty of beloved movies live in that zone.
