One thing that has always fascinated me is how quick people want to remove all sense of stakes and seriousness when it comes to live action versions of comic book characters.No excuse if it fails. Gunn literally had all the time in the world to get this just right.
I don't mind some humor but I don't want it to be a comedy.
I'm not really worried yet, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous.
They'll say "It's a comic book movie, it shouldn't take itself too seriously"
I never understood this when you have plenty comic books and animated films like Flashpoint Paradox and plenty episodes of B:TAS that take themselves plenty seriously and yet no one ever mentions that.
When it's flesh and blood actors all of a sudden things need to be silly and lighten up.
