Its like how people were saying that the Joker couldnt possibly be wearing purple in the nolanverse.

Wasn't there rumours that he was going to wear a black bin-liner that he found on the street?

Think I read that on BOF

They said that purple was an unrealistic color and that the Joker was going to wear black.

I've always thought it strange why that the thug from TDK with the explosives in his stomach is never brought up when we're discussing the whole realism thing. :yay:

I'm always delighted to see Nolan shush the realism crowd (Two-Face, most notably, and more recently the implication that Bane will use venom), but fairly, a lazarus pit is a little bit different.

The tone of these films isn't a hard "No fantasy" rule, but it's clear that Nolan has a personal standard that certain things fit into and certain things don't. I doubt a lazarus pit fits in there.

But then, I had my doubts about Nolan using venom, and look how that turned out.

Or Batman THUMPING into a taxi from a huge fall... and looking/acting like he had landed on a matress.

how can bane break his back? he has to fight him as bruce wayne.... because otherwise... that tank of an armor is not going to be broken... it took a fall from the frickin building and didn't give way... what is bane going to do? run him over with a truck?

Nolan always uses the term "heightened reality" to describe his take on the world of Batman.

he does a good job grouding the character... making it so that batman doesn't look outta place... whether it be lighting... the reaction of those around him or his goals... he fits into that world.

So far, we don't know how it's turned out.

I don't mean "how it turned out" in terms of whether it turned out good or bad; I just mean that it's pretty clear at this point that he's using it--or a reasonable facsimile.

Venom isnt that unrealistic anyway. Modern day Olympic athletes are basically on venom. They are truly superhuman.

As long as someone is keeping track of the ACTUAL thread number, we'll know how many we had when the movie finally comes out.

This is either 26 or 27.

Any reason why this thread is part 1 now?
Two words: Thread manager.

It knew that people wanted to see how many incarnations of this topic would exist by the time the movie came out, so it is actively trying to cause confusion on the matter.

It's 26. I'm guessing it'll refresh every 25.

which is silly because it's still the same number of threads. the past threads don't just magically disappear into retcon land.

This is thread 26. And the next one will be 27, not 2.

Well, the thing I don't understand, is that some threads have a "part #", and others are in roman numerals(ie. Tom Hardy as Bane VI).
