Scotland was the only surprise in that press release last week, so it's nice to get some more details!

I live in Glasgow, so yes, I know it quite well. :woot:

Excellent choice to be honest. Full of victorian gothic architecture.

You only need to google image search Glasgow buildings and you'll see what I mean.

Holy **** man, I completely missed that press release. I thought it wasn't known yet WHERE in Scotland they would film. I googled some images of Glasgow and it looks awesome indeed. I should go there sometimes.

I have the feeling Gotham will look spectacular in this film. It would be nice to see both BB locations (the Narrows set needs to return, not only for continuity's sake but also because it looked and felt great) and TDK locations along with some new elements.

I am so glad Gotham City will be a combination of various cities this time around. I cannot emphasize that enough.

It's interesting to see how that will play out. Since Chicago wont be the backdrop of Gotham anymore and we will see a new, more corrupt Gotham.

The Batman, as well as Superman movie directors have the excuse that the characters´ cities are fictional, which gives them great freedom to create them however they want.

It blows the mind how inaccurate some real cities are in Hollywood movies. I saw an article on Cracked about that. Washington, for instance, doesn´t have skyscrappers, but you see them in movies. Both Bad Boys movies and Transporter 2 have establishing shots of a Holllywood-style sign indicating Miami, except the city doesn´t have such a sign. Spider-Man 2 shows an elevated train in NY, and the city doesn´t have one, they shot in Chicago - although they used it to create an awesome sequence. Mexico cities are still made to look like the wild west in the Universal backlot, and current mexican cities don´t look like that at all.

The casting of that young girl has got me thinking.

BB had no mention of children (I think), if anything James was a baby.
TDK had James as about a six or seven year old and Barbara appears to be in the background, as a baby.
TDKR has cast a young girl, who appears to be six or seven - at least could pass/play - and one can speculate that she is Babs.

I seem to remember some of us stratching our heads, trying to put a timeline together, in terms of how many years have passed between BB and TDK. Some argued that James being older was just a mis-step on Nolan's part and should be over looked, hence BB to TDK was just a few years apart.

Hurm. Now is said young lady is Babs, I don't think the timeline is a mistake - if any - and Nolan has intended - from the start - to make these movies appear to take place over the course of 8 - 12 years. Makes more since, considering one doesn't establish himself as The Dark Knight of Gotham City over the course of three years.

I'm not trying to start a debate or flame war, just thinking out loud. Obviously, this is open for discussion, just don't want people to teh troll and act a fool over my random ass post/thought.

As long as Nolan can find a way to blend them to make them unrecognizable and to all look like part of a whole instead of a bunch of disconnected pieces.

No way 8 - 12 years have passed since TDK.

My opinion is that Batman Begins and TDK was about 1 or 2 years apart from each other and I hope TDKR will be longer than 2 years apart.

That girl will be a younger Selina Kyle in a flashback scene

And Matthew Modine a younger Carmine Falcone

Selina is Carmine's daughter

So... i hear #Batman #TDKR is going to be blowing something big up in #Croydon tonight.....

Possibly my post was not clear - sorry. I meant from start to finish - BB to TDKR - 8 through 12 years.

My opinion is that Batman Begins and TDK was about 1 or 2 years apart from each other and I hope TDKR will be longer than 2 years apart.

See. That is my point. So many of us have sound theories on the timeline and the age of the children makes no sense, compared to Nolan's sound judgment on concise movies. Why would he deliberately make the movie(s) appear to be a few years apart, between them, yet have children jump rapid ages?

No..I recall that James is young but Barbra is a baby in BB, you can see her in a high chair or something at one part of the film.

in TDK he;s closer to 10 and she looks closer to 6

@WayneGW
wayne white
The Dark Knight Rises is filming an explosion scene in the Croydon that could be interesting - just seen picture of Tom Hardy as Bane"

So can we assume they're still shooting on location then and they arent back at the hangars yet?

It can't be more than a year between Begins and TDK because of Joker's line to the mob: "A year ago these Cops and lawyers wouldn't dare cross any of you".

EDIT: I see the article now.

Embarrassing. Last time I post while half asleep. :csad:

See I thought James was a baby in BB and in TDK - the scene when Gordon is told to be died to his family, "go play with your sister," James looks to be eight at the oldest, and Babs is the baby.

Been a minute since I've seen them. So not promoting this as truth.

Again - another sound point. This age jump baffles me, if the young lady is Babs.

I really don't want to waste five hours re-watching both films today; but I will just to clear up the age jump - then be thoroughly confused. :(

I'm pretty sure shewasn't a baby in TDK. Go watch the ending with Two Face. Man you need a Mitchslap to the head. :oldrazz:
