So did the guy that suggested they use the building, make his thread before the info came out that they were indeed using it as Arkham Asylum? If so, that's a good call by him.

I honestly have no idea.

Its a very cool looking city it just looks too old world European to me though. I always imagined Gotham as having a mix of extremely old Gothic buildings as well as state of the art brand new buildings. (Which is why I really hope they utilize alot of Pittsburgh)

Gothic Gotham to me will always be Burtons Gotham, i loved the Cathederal, towering over Gotham. I'm just not sure Glasgow has building like that, from what i've seen.

That said i grew up loving Burton's Gotham. Sure its not as big feeling as Nolan's but the buildings by Furst were beautiful.

I hope i'm wrong and that Glasgow gives gotham that really Gothic feel that's been kinda missing from Nolan's films. It's time we saw Batman crouching behind a gargoyle.

EW has confirmed that Matthew Modine, star of Full Metal Jacket and Married to the Mob, has been cast in the upcoming Bat-threequel. A report in Variety said that Modine was playing a character named “Nixon,” but Modine’s reps couldn’t confirm that piece of information. (Given Nolan’s penchant for secrecy, I’m still not convinced that The Dark Knight Rises isn’t just a cover for the filming of Inception 2: The Dreaming.)

The Variety report also indicated that Tom Conti and 11-year-old actress Joey King have also been cast in the movie, but Modine’s casting is certainly the big news. It’s a fair bet that Modine will be playing a character invented by the Nolan brothers for the movie, although feel free to start digging through Bat lore for any reference to a character named “Nixon.”

So since they apparently filming in Glasgow, and apparently Bale, Hathaway, and Caine will be there, and they are filming some exterior shots, do you think WB might release a pic of Catwoman, if they are filming exteriors with Catwoman? You know, to beat the fanboys from snapping some pics of her.

It's certainly a possibility, i thought the same while they were filming the new Spider-man, but they released a official shot of the masked suit a few days after the internet was flooded with pap shots.

Agreed. Chicago has lots of cool Gothic architecture that Nolan didnt utilize, Pittsburgh does too. If he doesnt use it in Europe maybe he will in the States.




And I doubt we'll be getting a Catwoman pic anytime soon. I predicted we'd get a Bane pic in May because Hardy and Co. were previously at the Hangars in optimal lighting and environments, now since it seems they are going to Scotland, I doubt we'll be getting any official photos for a while.

Was I just imagining it or wasn't one of the characters in the casting sides named Nixon? It's not the name of the side itself but I seem to recall a Nixon character (maybe in the CEO side? I can't recall).

We are all just specualing like we were that Harvey would become Two face. While i have no doubt we'll see Catwoman i think she'll be revealed much much later.

While I found it interesting that the article specifically mentiond Caine and Hathaway (in adddition to Bale), I don't think it's for sure yet that they're the ones going to Scotland. I do think though that as the filming approaches, we'll find out who's going there (like how we found out who's going to HK for TDK and India for TDKR).

Bruce Wayne is supposedly arrested somewhere along the way. Maybe Nolan is drawning inspiration from "Wanted: Bruce Wayne". In it, Wayne is framed by Lex Luthor for the murder of his new girlfriend, Vesper Fairchild. In here, I'd think he is framed by Bane for the murder of Miranda Tata, Marion Cottilard's character, and Catwoman will play some role in the conspiracy, while the involvement of the GCPD would be obvious.
