A couple of little things I noticed in the trailer.

Tom Conti is the old guy who says the "It means rise" line to Bruce. The scene with Gordon, the Mayor, and the party/speech has a huge framed photo of Harvey Dent with flowers around the frame on the stage where Gordon and the Mayor are. It also looks like it's in front of Wayne Manor.

I would think that part of the reason for that is, by now, everyone knows of Nolan's Batman and probably want to setup the epic scale of this movie? I dunno, but I'm sure that we will get a Batman heavy trailer, along with a Catwoman and Bane heavy trailer. I bet that including this one, there will be 3 full trailers before release?

I imagine these have more to do with the quality of the bootleg. I expect they will be perfectly understandable in high quality.

oh i know that, i was suggesting the reason i couldnt understand anyone was because of the poor quality bootlegs coupled with the background noise. im not suggesting selina or bruce will be hard to understand in the actual film. the only reservation i have it with bane, who everyone is banging on about being unintelligible.

as for the guy with english as his second language who claims he understood everything, either youre some weird sort of bat creature, you listened a million times, or you already knew what they were saying from transcripts/at the very least knew the plot of the prologue, because it is practically white noise at times. i went in cold, with no prior info on what happens, and found it extremely difficult to understand. in a way, im glad, because the mystery is fairly intact having seen it (as hard as that might be to believe). the trailer was certainly better quality than the prologue, but when people are whispering, the background noise and score hampers it alot.

I agree. The other thing I liked about it is that it's amazing how confident they are now in showing the narrative in the trailers. As you say, there wasn't much of "Batman", but like any franchise with an ensemble of characters we all care for, it seemed to be the story that they were selling to us in this one instead of simply the action setpieces... which is not to say the latter wasn't there, but they remained breathtaking without too many money shots.

i guess the kid could be dick, but if we take that as read, then i think bruce wont die at the end of the film, because it would be too much of a jump for john blake/catwoman/whoever to have to be his ward until he can strike out on his own as robin.

at most he'll have the name and figure only as a victim in the anarchy. he wont be a character as such, more a plot point.

Indeed. From just the short lengh of time the bootlegs have been up on youtube I've heard dumb comments with moaning about how Bane's voice is stupid etc. There really isn't anything insightful on those things.

Oh I know. I just think the background noise could be toned down in that moment. Even just a notch.

I think the background noise level was fine, but Hardy is talking WAY too fast.
