I hope that football sequence is intercut with close ups. Because, well... Honestly... it looked worse than Michael Bay CGI......

and you are basing this on a bootleg version of the trailer?

Oh look, you conveniently used your mod powers to respond to my post AFTER you closed the first thread. Was it so hard to do it here?

...

Uh... no? Thread manager closed it because it was over 1000 posts, me posting after the fact was just an accident on my part. I would have preferred to post it here. Also, what bearing does that even have on the conversation? Or did you just feel like being snippy?

Anywho, I disagree with your position that Knightfall is a widely regarded, and crucial story line in the mythos. Who regards this and by what measurement?

You can't be serious. Anytime someone mentions Batman's overally history in the comic books, they're pretty much obligated to mention the story that lead to Batman's back being broken and the first time the character was ever defeated. It was a huge story back in the 90's when it came out, and was even adapted as an audio play because of it's popularity. That's the regard and measurement of it's importance, not your blatant cynicism.

I've never talked to a Batfan who openly gushed over Knightfall. Long Halloween? Hush? Killing Joke? Yes, people often cite those as important stories in the mythos. Knightful is just an excuse to cream jeans over Bane.

Not at all, and it has less to do with Bane's character and more to do with it's affect on Batman and Gotham City. Which someone who paid attention to more than five pages of the book would know.

Even in Arkham City, Bane is more or less considered a joke character, and it's the best Batman game to date. So by that measure, I cannot hold all these straws the Bane lovers are grasping at.

So you'd bank on the character's use in a video game over the actual merits presented in the comic book incarnation, regardless of the fact that the video game's developers can pick and choose which characters to use in whatever fashion they please. Interesting...

At the risk of getting into some drawn out ridiculous argument:
Any comic/Batman fan will agree that Knightfall was important. Not everyone agrees about the quality. Same with Hush. I loved it but I've heard some fans say it was overrated.

I've read Hush, I would agree it's overrated, however popular it might be. In my experience, no comic fan I know outwardly promotes Knightfall as something I must read asap.

And is Bane really a "joke" in AC? Or are you just guessing?

Yeah, he's done after one fight. Real threat, that Bane.

Saw it with Holmes. My favourite part was actually Selina giving Bruce her veiled threat; cool stuff.

Was it the regular Catwoman costume? Or did she have on regular cat ears and not the goggles?

Are we still sure that it's Bane climbing out of the well in the teaser? I'm starting to think that it's Bruce. It's kinda symbolic actually. He now has to climb out on his own without his father helping him out.

I posted this in another thread but, i've rewatched all the official and "non official footage" I have a major feeling that is not bane climbing up the shaft but bruce hear me out. Bruce is seen in what seems to be an under ground prison. I'm thinking bane and his men find him there or take and leave him there, and bane beats him to a pulp tells him he has his permission to die etc. and knowing gotham is going to be attacked he recovers and climbs out. I've watched the climbing scene and how bane moves he's a brute but he's graceful the man climbing out it jerky and putting all their strength into every movement almost like they are in extreme pain.

Sounds like you got some Ninjary going on! :D That sequence is in India or the well in the grounds of Wayne Manor? Will they battle on the ropes or just in the well?

LOL I'm just speculating! :oldrazz: My guess is it's in that prison type building. Maybe some of it were filmed in a studio.

I hated the way Bane was defeated in Batman: AC, especially because it makes no sense that he couldn't break that little cage like a toothpick. Horrible writing there, and I like Batman: AC.

I'm liking that theory.

Yep that's my theory as well. I'm definitely on Team Bruce Climbing. lol

Strange I use to think it was Bane, but after the prologue and trailer footage, I'm positive it's Bruce. He's down in that prison. He's wearing baggy clothes. We see those ninjas repel down into the hole to get to the prison. The only way out must be to climb up that hole.

Maybe....it's LOS headquarters? :p

They didn't--but frankly, I've never really seen an audience react to a trailer with anything but murmuring anyway. Additionally, it was a pretty empty theater.

That sucks. I had a lot of applause at the teaser.

Anyways, I would like to point out that Knightfall is very important to Batman mythos. There are a few things that can date Batman. The aging of Robins, Damian, The man who laughs, Year One, etc etc. AND Knightfall.

Ahhh thought we had a Ninjaress on our hands. :D Ah so Bruce escapes out of it by taking out the guards rappelling down to stop him maybe?

I don't really get those reactions, either. A few people may shout out or as you say, murmur, but it doesn't reach anything like Hans Zimmer's new Bane chant.

Honestly, I can't even remember if there was a clear shot of Catwoman in costume. Certain stuff stuck with me, but that didn't.

I want to see Bruce fighting tons and tons of goons.

quick question was that Hines Ward that scored the touchdown in the trailer?? I was watching the bootleg and the name on the jersey looked like it had his last name on it

WARD I believe.

Are we really using Bane's brief portrayal in an unrelated video game as evidence that Tom Hardy/Nolan's Bane is terrible? Grasping at straws...haters gonna hate.
