The Dark Knight Rises The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Thread - Part 2

Well it's looking like I'm not covered after all. Damn I hate having such a ghetto setup.

So here's my thoughts on the trailer. I felt it was pretty damn good, has a very high tension feeling to it. Lots of nice footage too, doesn't beat around the bush like other trailers do. Alfred's line about protecting Bruce got to me as well, you can hear a lot of guilt in his voice, tugs at the strings. Then there is Bane, I know you can't gauge a lot from a trailer, but Bane looks to be large and in charge in this film. After this film, there won't be a single person in the world now, and 40 years from now that will remember his incarnation in Batman And Robin.

I've watched it about 5 times now. Awesome stuff.

This film seems so heavy, I'm really, really interested to know Bane's motives.

It's funny to see a Batman trailer with so little Batman too, no Catwoman and a lot of Bane... very interesting.

I'm also feeling like the second trailer will be the "holy ****" one, much like with The Dark Knight.

I just saw a clearer bootleg of TDKR trailer. The shot where Bruce and Alfred enters a big darkish room full of stairs I originally thought it was supposed to be the Batcave but in this bootleg you could clearly see a number of people in the background. Notice how Bruce and Alfred are both wearing the same thing and when they entered this room there was a cell door that opened. I'm starting to think that Bane will take both Bruce Wayne and Alfred as prisoners.

That's not Alfred. That's the actor Tom Conti.

I admit the jacket is looking a little better after the trailer.:oldrazz:

 I thought it might be a bit odd looking in the film but the IMAX shot of Bane walking on the City Hall steps sold me.

I can't wait until we see the College Humor parody of Bane's voice.

Has anyone noticed the similarity between the ending of the prologue and the scene in TDK where Batman escapes Hong Kong with Lau?

The shot of the plane flying off is close to identical. I have to think that was done on purpose. For Batman it showed that he truly had no limits, having traveled across the world to get Lau, who thought he was completely secure. Is Nolan drawing the same comparison with Bane? He has the audacity to devise a plan where he gets himself caught by the CIA and then he ends up escaping armed captivity. Yes, the Joker was a similar situation, but he was just a crazy mother****er looking to cause chaos. We're now in the middle of that chaos in Gotham and I think the scene was directed to display Bane's equal intelligence and power to Batman's.

That was my only complaint. It seemed like a recycled idea. Not only was the escape almost identical but so was the plane.

I agree, by the end of it, it felt very recycled. Though from what I understand they originally wanted Bane to land the plane while it was on fire. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I read earlier today, and I remember reading the report a few months ago.

Bane's coat has and will always be teh awesome. Love at first sight for me.
