Yes, please fold The Batman characters into the DCU. That doesn’t mean I need to see Green Lantern in The Batman II but there’s nothing about the Reeves characters that makes me think they can’t eventually stand next to more fantastical / sci-fi characters.

I'd rather have a Batman in the DCU who already has the batfamily.

I'm hoping for exactly that. Any universe reboot will take a few years to get going so 2028 will still be very early in its life and Pattinson/Kravitz/Farrell could be huge boosts to the wider DC universe after Reeves' third film, if all parties are cool with it.

I'd be ok with that! Though that's not what I meant hahaha. I meant: Reeves finishes his trilogy and that's it for his version of Batman. DCU gets a new Batman with a different actor.

Oh haha, gotya. That may well happen too. Either is fine as long as the new Batman can measure up to Patman/Battinson.

Or think back to Suicide Squad (2016) when Tom Hardy was the front runner (maybe even cast if I remember correctly?) for Colonel Flagg, only 4 years after playing Bane in TDKR.

With so many comic book properties being developed, actors are going to be sliding across the aisle with regards to MCU and DCU, and even across roles.

I think he'd make a great MCU Hercules. Hemsworth and The Rock both acting stupid could be fun.

I think that could work if he went back to the silly humour he’s good at rather than the straight BA performance.

I'd rather have a Batman in the DCU who already has the batfamily.

I want Batfamily early next time out, however they want to go about it. Should be easier as the new Batman either won’t have solos straight off or they use the Reeves characters when he’s done to which it should be easy to add Batfamily at that stage (and that’s if Reeves didn’t already add them himself).

I don't need the Batfamily introduced right from the jump.

And I still ultimately think they are going to bring Pattinson in. I definitely don't see them rehashing the SnyderVerse with a Ben Affleck ish older Batman hanging out with a new Superman.

I think they’d be more worried about rehashing the current other Batman franchise.

Gunn’s apparent fondness for the source material, bringing to life characters that many believe don’t work, tells me this Bats is gonna have a Bat family, at least Robin and Batgirl, maybe Nightwing. That’s what Bats had in the beloved DCAU before meeting Supes, and I wouldn’t consider him an old Bruce there.

And I think if there’s any solo movies it’s more likely to be about Nightwing or Batgirl with Bats as a supporting character.

So how much screen time would the Batfamily really get in Justice League movies or other crossovers? Would the Teen Titans already exist? What would Nightwing be doing? Where would you use Damian or Barbra? Or Jason Todd?

That just feels like a giant mess. And more of the same of what they were already doing.

You make a Bat Family movie. Ensemble piece. Batman is just one of several main characters. Or you make him a supporting character with Robin/Nightwing and Batgirl as the main POV characters. Lean more heavily into the fantasy/sci-fi elements, and there you go. A very different kind of movie than what Reeves is cooking up.
