So was that Deadline story about the film being profitable utter nonsense?
Lmao of course it was. I dont think anyone was buying that wonky accounting.

Someone on Reddit said 'Now we know 'what the Rock's been cooking' - the books!'Lmao of course it was. I dont think anyone was buying that wonky accounting.

Truthfully, I can't blame Gunn for wanting to wipe the slate clean. I just wonder if it's too late to do that plus they still have like four more films coming out next year that are still technically DCEU films.
If Superman can ultimately survive Superman 4, and Batman can survive Batman & Robin, the DC Universe can survive the DCEU SnyderVerse. They will be making movies out of these characters long after we are dead and gone.
So Hamada's plan was to reboot with The Flash and I guess keep everyone who had successful films and get rid of the ones who weren't well received or flopped? So Batman and Superman would be gone and replaced with Michael Keaton, Batgirl, and Supergirl? Reeves would have his own separate universe with The Batman and its spinoffs. Abrams would have his own universe with a Black Superman. It was truly a mess.
Ooh, now that's interesting. I might be able to cross a few things off my listI also hear James Gunn will be working with DC Comics and Jim Lee about coordinating series and reprints that will be out to the public.

15 years in development hell only to be released and not make huge profit. Hmmm maybe Warner should have not released it to begin with.

The only thing I'd be worried about is superhero fatigue, but I feel like the DC universe has much more to offer than just vanilla superhero content.
To be fair, all other options suck. They'd have to reboot in 5 years or so. Why not do it now? If I'm James Gunn and Zaslav tells me "I'll give you creative control over DC, feel free to start over", I'd reboot the living **** out of it.

This video sums it up imo haha
Not an issue. Batman just rebooted again, and was massively profitable.
Make good movies, the audience is there.
Wouldn't call the movie massively profitable. It made a small profit, sure (around 60M) but this is Batman we're talking about. The fact that it didn't even clear 800M is a bit worrying imo.
But you know, I keep saying this guys and my big question is: rebooting everything is a start yes, but how will starting from scratch fundamentally change how DC films are made and marketed? Because ultimately i think thats the issue DC has run into that led them to this point. People can say its all Zack Snyder's fault we're here and yes, he indeed set the foundation for this universe, but Zack Snyder hasn't had a say in how these DCEU movies have been made since 2017. Aquaman, Shazam, Wonder Woman 84, Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam are all movies that were produced independently of Snyder's influence and were arguably veering in a new direction and yet those all led us to this point. So I think problem DC has is much deeper than Snyder. If a rebooted DC universe is going to be successful , something else needs to change in terms of how DC movies are produced otherwise, reboot or not, general audiences are still not going to turn out for them.
