Dua Lipa. I've seen some users fancast her but I don't personally get it.

I am actually a big Dua Lipa fan and she certainly has the look for WW. But who knows if she can act?

This is more like it. Claudia Doumit from The Boys is also another and we know both can act. Anya is a really good actress.

I bet you can go even shorter.

We're looking what, four/five years down the line to a rebooted WW? I reckon Gunn'll go for someone who will be around 25 by that time, so around 19/20 now.

Yeah.
If our small sample of WW casting tradition holds, it'll probably be a young actress we haven't heard of yet, ala Lynda Carter and Gal Gadot.

Even Adrianne Palacki who had the failed pilot of WW wasn't exactly a household name.

So , I tend to think the next Diana won't be someone mentioned whose being mentioned in fancasts, at this early point.

With DCEU movie Blue Beetle bombing at the box office, and the same likely to happen with DCEU movie Aquaman 2, after DCEU movies The Flash, Shazam 2 and Black Adam all bombed at the box office...

...if James Gunn doesn't realise he needs a hard reboot, then he and Zaslav really do deserve everything they get.

All I can say is thank goodness they don't have any theatrical releases for DC in 2024. They will have a year and a half break on the big screen between Lost Kingdom and Legacy.

Isn't Joker: Folie à deux due for release in October 2024?

Despite its origin, this franchise stands out pretty well from the genre anyway, so I'm guessing its success, or lack of, won't have much of an impact on the whole DC brand. At least, not like what are supposed to be your classic big popcorn flicks like a Flash or Aquaman. Looking around me, most of the people who showed interest and liked the first film aren't CBM fans at all, so...

Yeah, this is a welcome break.

But when the time comes, I think the return will have to be coupled with a genuine creative renewal. Rather than a shared universe, I'm much more eager to see the genre break out of its eternal formulas, especially in terms of form. I truly think that's where the keys to future success lie... And looking at Gunn's declarations, he knows that.
Fingers crossed.

Is the kind of reboot still a topic of discussion? They’re rebooting like 99% of everything lol

There will be more new faces in Legacy alone than old ones coming back from TSS or Peacemaker, assuming that’s the big reboot concern

Is it actually 'bombing'? My understanding was it made $25.4 million opening weekend, lower than expected but still enough for it to open at number one. And it's widely thought that total was heavily impacted by storm Hilary.

Not a Blue Beetle fanboy (do they even exist?), but it seems a little early to say it's a bomb.

Let's be real....it'll bomb. It'll likely make $60-70mill during its run sadly.

But it'll likely be a smaller bomb compared to the others. Also deserves to at least break even but it has to many factors working against it

It may well bomb. But it seems a little early to say that it is already.

Deadline reported it had a budget of $104 million, not to mention whatever went into the marketing budget (even with it being lackluster). I don't see them breaking even, nevermind making a profit.
