DC Films The DC Studios News and Discussion Thread

Their current slate shows plenty of that imo, but that would only boost it.

Is there any comic book movie that is more anticipated then Joker 2, Batman 2 and Superman Legacy? DC can turn things around by hitting on those three movies. I guess Deadpool and Wolverine can give those movies competition. I don’t know about the Fantastic 4.

Of course Grace took a shot at James Gunn saying the script is a mess because Superman is involved with a fictional Middle East and no Brianiac.

Did she really call it a mess bc it's potentially about something that she thinks it shouldn't be about? Lol thats pretty funny

She was doing a MCU show after the article came out trashing the recent MCU direction. Then she threw in a jab in about Legacy saying Gunn’s script is trash because a white man (Superman) is supposed to fly in to save the day in the Middle East. She also said Universal is going to buy WB. Grace is Woke.

It's funny how Youtube's incel pop culture channels consider Grace some ultra-leftist, "woke" activist. She's a centrist to a fault, she likes representation, but in small doses and as inoffensive to conservatives as possible. In that very same live stream, she said she was worried Agatha was going to have too many queer characters. Woke...
She wants Wicken to a be a big MCU star but is worried that if they have too many characters with similar qualities it will hurt the character. Plus it will turn off the audience and make Agatha only for a certain fan base. Real concerns honestly.

Yeah, let’s wrap up the strike so we can finish casting Legacy. I want Lex and Jimmy by Christmas.

About ready to to ban the word “woke” from The Hype lol.

But for the record, Grace Randolph ain’t that.
As you should...so misused and misunderstood.

And Grace shamed Gal Gadot so she is hardly some social justice warrior!

As long as it's only for animation and not live action i'm ok with it. Not because i don't think chalotra fit the role for live action, it's because i want to see a different Anya in the role in live action - Anya Taylor-Joy,

Uh, about that.....

So this is the Anya you get.

I still don't entirely know if that was a good idea. I get Gunn's reasoning, wanting that synergy across all mediums and adaptations, but I wonder how well it could work in execution. A performance that works in animation or a video game doesn't always equate to live-action.

Well, it's going to be very difficult. The MCU hasn't made combining shows work with films as of yet, and from a very strong foundation that the DCU will have to build (challenging enough on its own). Awesome if all this somehow works but I'm not going to put any hopes into it just yet, let's see how Legacy turns out first.

I can see Gunn on that be willing to move away from his position.
He feels to me like someone who is willing to change his position if it helps elevate a project.
So i can see him move away from that and realize that a good actor doesnt necessary makes a good voice actor etc.

Maybe for some other thing way down the line but on Creature Commandos he's been very explicit time and time again that the actors he cast for that are also meant to be live action characters. Anya specifically is obvious was cast for that in mind as well since she's primarily a screen actress most known for a very popular genre show. Like, we have to go for what the man himself says lol

I see she is Yenifer. Is she playing the Circe from Wonder Woman lore?
Yep, looks that way. Great to see any hints of a future DCU Wonder Woman (one of my overall favourite comic characters). Also not a whole lot of competition when it comes to the WW villain stakes. :D :csad:
