I like Easter Eggs, both the chocolate kind in April and in movies and shows and I like discussing them as I've done 4 other times here. So at the suggestion of others, here's my fifth!

I'll start, pretty much every possible mention of events and names from the movies we know and love as well as Extremis from Iron Man 3.

Skye started the "with Great Power" quote.

I'm guessing it is but they changed it because of that.

Skye mentioned the cover-ups of New Mexico (Thor) and Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. (The Avengers) which was awesome. Extremis was a great addition and Iron Man appeared on a monitor at the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility towards the beginning. Also, Dr. Erskine and the super soldier serum get name dropped. And the Chitauri neural link tech that Ward recovers was a nice touch and I think it was also sort of an explanation to why the Chitauri all dropped dead when Iron Man blew up the mothership.

Yeah, is that meant to exist? considering that belongs to sony.

They turned it into a joke, so I think that counts as parody as far as the lawyers are concerned. Also people quote "with great power comes great responsibility" all the time in non-Sony productions and no one gets sued. It's a little thing, I don't think anyone in their right minds would get into a legal battle over a pop culture reference like that.

Well said.

I liked when JAR offered to buy his son an action figure of a character from The Avengers and his son was like "no thanks, I don't want any of those heroes". I have to think the subtext there was intentional.

IIRC, at one point there's a line along the lines of "Are you ready to begin this Journey into Mystery?"

I liked how they had a 6" Black Widow figure on display (even though one was never made...)

Nice to have this thread to recap or keep track

So . . . the hot blond from France who had the Chitauri neural link has an alias called LONGSHOT.

Yup.

Yeah I caught that one! I wonder if anyone will ever say "Marvelous" at any point in the show.

Maria Hill showing up was an obvious one. The Spider Man line, references to the Hulk, CA, and IM 3 through Extremis. There might have been a Quicksilver EE, but I', not sure if that was the intent. The SSS, Dr. Erskine, JIM, Project PEGASUS, the Chitauri, too many to count.

When Coulson, Hill and Ward came to a door at SHIELD HQ, the computer voice said, "Say cheese!" before the facial recognition scan. In the Battle Scars book that introduced Phil Coulson to the comics universe, his nickname was Cheese. I don't know if that was an intentional nod to his other universe alter ego but I like to think it was. :cwink:

One of the biggest Easter Eggs was Lola, of course. She is both an early 60s SHIELD flying car like Nick Fury had in the old Agents of SHIELD book and also the payoff to another Easter Egg from Captain America: The First Avenger. When Steve got to the 21st Century I always imagined him wondering where all the flying cars were after seeing Howard Stark's presentation. Now we know that there is only one, and she belongs to Phil. :word:

Since Lola is a classic Corvette I predict she will have been Howard Stark's personal creation.

Yup.

Think you misheard that one.
The name drop was "Vanchat," who happens to be (apparently) Maurissa Tancharoen's dad.

Just a small one:

Stark Industries advertisement. I love those kinds of little things, really makes you feel like the show is in the Marvel Universe.

Project Pegasus being mentioned was pretty awesome.

It's something I hope they introduce at some point.

I'm sure it won't be hard for Nat to go back to spying with her action figure and face plastered everywhere.

That looked like a Marvel Legends Black Widow figure. It didn't look like a movie one based on Scarlett.
