The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Easter Eggs

I'm pretty sure there were easter eggs in the bg we did not catch, or little teases, but I didn't look out for them too well. Even after watching 3 times.

Marc likes to plant things in the bg like in TASM. The lightning photo hinted at Electro. I wonder what's in TASM2 we didn't catch?

Easter Egg: Scientist experimenting on Electro was played by a real-life cartoon character

I was thinking Dr Strangelove but Judge Doom works as well lol

Was I the only one that noticed, in the Electro torture scene, the electricity in/on his face showed the classic star mask shape at one point? I'm almost positive I saw it.

Man I gotta watch out for that next time.

Not sure if this was listed elsewhere here, but Peter mentioned JJJ paid him a fair wage if we were in 1961, which is one year before Spidey's Amazing Fantasy 15 debut.

Also, when Peter's checking his gmail, there's an email from Aunt May asking him to get eggs, which is a funny little callback/visual gag to ASM1.

Pier 17 any thoughts on this as a reference?

Used for illegal weapons shipments in one ASM story & could be a clue for Gustav Fiers involvement or scheme.

There's that sequence towards the start of the film of Peter taking off his suit at his wardrobe and it's always something different as he's getting changed (I think one of the shots was him with some seaweed on him, implying he'd gone underwater...?); maybe these could be little nods to smaller villains he'd been up against or nods to particular crimes/situations from the comics?

Many people thought this was supposed to reference Spideys first appearance but that was in 1962 with Amazing Fantasy #15. Since I'm a big Thor fan and collected most of his Journey into Mystery comics I was aware of this little gem that most people aren't.

I believe 1961 was referenced because the first Proto-type Spiderman appearance in a comic was Journey into Mystery #73 that came out in 1961. Check this out for reference :)

Also the year 1963 was referenced at some point in the movie and that is the year that Amazing Spiderman #1 came out.

Ahhh I didn't catch the eggs email. That's funny.:funny:

Final battle in ASM3 at the Pier. Confirmed?!?!?!:funny:

I thought that the Oscorp AI was from Spider-Man 2099 (Lyla), but the character's name was Kari in the film. I think that would have been a cool nod if they actually used Lyla.

Wait are you guys sure that's Black Cat as Harry's assistant? She just says her name is Felica never says her last name is Hardy. Also, doesn't Felica have white hair? She had black hair here. And there were no real hints of her black cat persona.

Probably their version of The Dark Knight's Riddler... we'll ever know!

Yes I could see that or some of the material from the comics used to perhaps store these so called biological weapons Richard Parker wanted to stop.

I wonder if Mr Fiers will end up in Ravencroft or go face to face with Peter?

Any thoughts on that?

I don't know if anyone said this yet but there was a nod to Raimi's Spider-man movie. When Peter was searching for 'What is Roosevelt?' An image of a cable car appears with big red letters that said Roosevelt...the same cable car the kids in Raimi's Spider-man movie were in when Spidey tried to save them and MJ.

It's blink and you miss it, but when Harry is going through "Special Projects", you can see the Venom easter egg.

I honestly don't know what to make of this one. I feel like it's a nod to the Spider Venom that was extracted from the Spiders.

But then again, when Menkin is down there with Harry, the project has a different name on the screen.

People are swearing up and down it's Felicia Hardy, even though she's referred to as Felicia in both the movie itself and the credits.

I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be THE Felicia.

She was doing some minor espionage work for Harry, but there are apparently filmed/deleted scenes of her sneaking around in Oscorp's lower levels.

Also, I found it odd no one mentioned Smythe. Isn't that Smythe that tells Dillon he has to stay late? He even calls him "Smythe" and "Mr. Smythe".

I honestly wished it was Donald Menken so when he is told Max got in the electric eel accident and questions who is that, making it interesting to see despite all the berating and demeaning he does to Max he still doesn't really know or pay attention to who he is even when he has been in the accident and I felt like you could have interchanged Alistair Smythe in this movie with any other character from the comics like his dad or Miles Warren or someone ,might as well make it someone who already had a good amount of parts in the movies. Same with Felicia, she could have been Liz Allen or something and it wouldn't have made much of a difference to me.

It was just a name put on a character.

I thought the scene in the movie was perfectly done. I think the clock tower was an improvement on the bridge scene.

To be fair, yes that scene in particular was executed well (Gwen falling and being caught)- shame that everything leading up to it was so weak that it didn't have anywhere near the punch that it should have.

How was the clock tower an improvement over the bridge? There was almost no history/rivalry between Harry and Peter- unlike Norman and Peter. The movie changed entirely the dynamics of the characters (the most important part), and not for the better.
