Trump has a 60% disapproval rating. Most people who voted for him were just voting against Hillary I think. Bernie would have had higher turnout among minorities and millenials. I think it would have been close but Bernie would have had a chance.

fixed

Just think of all the xenophobes and white nationalists he has emboldened to run for office now.

This. His words in his victory speech were boilerplate bromides but what you posted is a reality now as never before. This was a blow to the body politic.

I'm not even confident that we'all see a mid-term correction all that much in two years. I expect Trump to govern as he has campaigned, and he will convince those that handed him his victory tonight that they need to stay the course and keep congress in the hands of the Republicans.

Where I think Trump will help in the midterms is we might see a slight uptick of House members(we currently at 188), the Senate won't bleed as bad as if Hillary was up(we have 26 seats up for grabs, compared to 10 for the Republicans) and most importantly I think we will see huge swings in State Governments for the positive

8 years of Trump is hard to imagine, but then again i didn't expect this either so...

As I keep pointing out, despite all the **** that went on in Bush's watch we got 8 years of that administration.

I'm smiling ear to ear right now because she lost.

I imagine it will be like Bush/Cheney but much worse. Social and civil progress will be slammed into reverse, and thrown into a J-turn.

Anger is not a cogent policy. Resentment is not a cogent policy. Conspiracy theories are not a cogent policy. Sticking your thumb into the eye of the establishment is not a cogent policy.

Let's also think about how full of **** too many of our fellow citizens are. They supposedly wanted change and to send a message. Yet congress did not change. They didn't throw those "Bums" out.

It's almost 2am here in LA. I thought I'd go to sleep before the final results came in and a miracle would happen, but I woke up after a fitful sleep and couldn't help myself by checking the Internet.

The Nightmare is real. Donald Trump is America's President.

But I will never refer to him as *my* President. I will not acknowledge a racist, sexist, and one who mocks disabilities and immigrants as my President.

This is going to be a long, tough 4 years of our lifetime.

Do you think theyre going to vote out people with R's beside their names. Pfft, that R is a seal of quality and integrity. Voting them out would be foolish.:o

Seriously tho, Im pretty sure a lot americans dont actually give a **** about Congress most of the time. They gripe some about congress but the average joe and jane focuses on the president and seems to blame the president for everything from local personal problems to large federal problems.

Now that I've settled down, I'm more concerned with the fact that the GOP now has the House and Senate, and soon to be Supreme Court. What a time to be alive....

Im gonna miss President Obama and his calm easy going demeanor. Ill especially miss it when Generalissimo Donald is having one of his midnight twitter wars with a foreign leader.

Elections have consequences but the electorate is interested in it being a popularity contest of personalities.

Yes, our nightmares have just begun.

Trump down to a 0.2% national popular vote lead. Last update until Clinton overtakes him.
