The Election Night Thread - Part 2

He's a puppet. Pence is the one that concerns me. I'm from Indiana so I know the damage he can actually do in regards to policy.

Congratulations, United States. Last night, you showed how inclusive and open-minded your country is by electing your first caveman President.

No puppet. No puppet. You're the puppet! You're the puppet! :o

Republican governor John Kasich's staff said they were approached to get Kasich on board as VP. They offered total control over domestic and foreign policy. When asked what Trump would do as President they were told he would be in charge of "making America great".

I **** you not.

What position is Pence going to be if not VP, and if Gyrich is Secretary of State?

I posted a bit earlier about a reputable firm based in London called Cambridge Analytica --they did a tremendous amount of work in masterminding the Trumps campaign and analysing target demo. Their key point is that populist messages will always work better. Last year, I said that Trump had about much chance of becoming president as Clinton, if he won the Republican primary. I based this reasoning on the capacity of USA populace to be uninformed in much the same way as they did with the election of GW Bush in 2000. I also saw danger when Clinton fell back to the old cliched Third Way, safe message, and Sanders' populist movement cut off at knees.

Donald Trump said: "I'll Make America Great Again!"

Most people took that to mean America great for White (Male) People Again, however Trump also said things like the Establishment had shipped all of their good-paying jobs overseas and that he, as President, would be bringing them back, said, "Believe me!"

The rust-belt people who had lost their way of life when their jobs went overseas after corp found the labor price was lower there. They believed Trump because they wanted their way of life back. They were hoodwinked into believing in these stuffs --stuffs that will not happened because the corp will not be bringing back these jobs. Clinton lost heavily in these rust-belt sections of USA.

When no jobs became forthcoming in the first year of Trump presidency, there will be some sort of backlash in the rust-belt. Much bigger than the Tea Party. And it'll be more like Krystalnacht (The Night of the Broken Glass) in 1938 Germany.

Pence will be VP but in name only. If Trump offered Pence the same offer he gave Kasich then Pence will be doing all the President's work. Domestic and foreign policy. Basically Pence will be the president. Trump will be the face but behind the scenes Pence will run the show.

Its what happened with Bush and Cheney. Except Trump is an even more incompetent unqualified imbecile than Bush was and Pence is every bit as destructive, conniving, and opportunistic as Cheney.

And its already been announced Pence will be Trump's official "liason" to Congress because of Trump's inexperience. You can bet on it, Pence is going to be wearing the pants in that nightmare relationship.

So I guess Trump no longer feels that the election was rigged?

He will have the title of VP, but he will be in control of the policy coming out of the Executive Office in the areas of Foreign and Domestic Policy....because Trump has no policy ready to go, that is obvious on his website, as well as his answering of questions on those things in the 3 debates. So yes, he will pretty much be a figure head, which is what he is apparently good at, because that is exactly what he is in regards to his company. When all of his casinos went bankrupt, the banks bailed him out because they felt they would get much more money out of the casinos with the Trump name on them, and him as the figure head, than they would taking them over and removing the Trump name. He of course took the credit for pulling his company out the ditch, but he had nothing to do with it, he simply took the bailout from the banks. That is pretty much what I see him doing for at least the next 4 years. Whatever happens that is good, he will take credit for....and whatever is bad he will blame on the Dems in Congress. Pretty much 4 more years of the same last 8, only on the Reps side. :) Gotta love that change that people wanted....

So if Pence is VP, then what official position will Kasich be, if he's actually VP in function? Secretary of State INO? :o

Only silver lining for me is watching those celebrity liberals squirm: dissapointed with the result, Rosie O'Donnel? Can't take the heat, Cher? Thinking of moving to Canada, Madonna? Maybe Trump will force you to get real jobs, for once.

Their job is to entertain us.

Like Trump had a real job. :o

Because a real job is something Trump knows anything about.

Or how our new president will squirm when they continue to critique and mock him. SNL has four years of golden material now. The big problem there is, what actions he'll now have the power to take against his critics.

Internment camps for comedians, which would basically not be far off from what Hitler did.

Those celebrities actually have real jobs, unlike Trump, and they did not start their career with a million bucks from their rich father like Trump did. I respect them far more than Mr. Bankruptcy.

Maybe he could try to shut it down himself or try to get laws changed so that spoofs and parodies aren't viewed as such but as libelous.

You can be sure he'll be offended and will try to take some action, even off the books. Now he probably feels he's in a position to get everyone back who ever wronged him. Watch out all those women who came forward with the sexual assault claims.

And I suppose the special prosecutor is still on the agenda?

Although Pence may be the one making all the policy, won't Trump still have the final say on everything, and could also make certain demands, even on a personal basis, just because he's been offended?

Speaking of which, does this mean Alec Baldwin will join the cast of SNL now?

He'll have to.

Wondering the same thing. It would be torture, since he's clearly against Trump. So having to mock the President by "becoming" him rather than mock a losing pathetic waste of a human being? That's going to be harder. But, I would love for that to be the case. And the more Trump complains - the more pathetic the caricature is made to be. One way to keep a sane voice alive, mocking the emperor.

(I can't call him President, it makes it too real that way)

I don't think all those impersonators of George W Bush ever had a problem having to actually play him as president. They had a field day acting out all the Bushisms.

That's true, but yet again for all this Bush 2.0 talk - I never viewed the guy as a monster, just a dimwit. I'm not saying Trump is Hitler, even though they share a lot in common - it would be like portraying Hitler.

With that in mind, can we have our Charlie Chaplin type moment?

Bush was mockable in a different way though. People legit fear what may be waiting come January.

Youre wasting your time.

Anyone who tries to equate Hilary's corruptness (which of course is bad but is par of the course for a politician) to Trump's open xenophobia, sexism, hate rhetoric is...I can't say without getting banned

You complain and b***h about corruptness and then then you support Trump or wasted your vote on Jill Stein or Gary Johnson? Get out of here. Get all the way the f*** outta here. Im also 99% sure the people who go on about how bad of Clinton is couldn't tell me why without going to Google or just saying something about emails

This x1000. People are dumb. They voted with emotion and a disturbing amount of prejudice in their hearts. So sad.
