Eddie in the Cruisers was great. It might not have been a big hit, but it's an 80's cult classic, same with Streets of Fire. As for why fanboys want to see him in this film... well, I don't know how many of them truly are, but for myself, I'd like to see him in it since I've always thought he was a good actor that unfortunately never caught on for whatever reason.

And it's not like ALL of these guys are (or were) these big, famous action stars. I'd like to see a show of hands here how many people sat through a Randy Couture or Steve Austin movie before The Expendables.

Couture is a legit badass so I didn't mind seeing him in this. I probably wouldn't watch another one of his films though .

Austin on the other hand was decent in the Condemned and I hope he gets more roles.

Hmm, he was set to be in the original as Richard The Gay Expendable. I wonder if they're bringing that character back.

I'm really excited to see Liam in The Hunger Games since I just finished that book so if he's good in that then I'll be more than happy to have him in this. I'll take him over Taylor Lautner any day of the week.

Well Statham and Adkins are in their late 30's. The only reason it's so full of old people, is because the young people completely failed to step up in their wake.

They should play up the fact he's a pretty boy, maybe make him an annoying *****e. All the rednecks in the audience will chomp at the bit to see him get offed.

Variety says he's playing a sniper. The good guys already have Dolph as the team sniper. I'd love to see a Saving Private Ryan style sniper battle between Dolph and Hemsworth. With Dolph just mumbling to himself R-Truth style talking to imaginary friends and getting frustrated.

Other sites say Liam will play a Sniper and one (Screenrant) speculates that he could be a son of one of the Expendables.

And Travolta and Cage need to re-enact their fight scene from Face Off.
