I re-watched this episode yesterday morning. Much better the 2nd time around for sure. I am convinced of a few things though now. Nothing is as it seems. Wells being RF is too neat, too convenient, too easy. Could he be RF? Absolutely but there is so much more going on I think. I thought RF looked more like Eddie on the 2nd viewing but that is too neat too. I cant wait to see what is really going on and what is a red herring. Cheers.

The effects for The Flash vs. Reverse Flash race and fight were cool and you can see the improvements in fighting choreography.

I know a stunt guy was used for when they were filming the sequence between Flash and Reverse Flash at Star Labs, but do you guys think that the actor that plays Wells actually wore the costume for the close-up dialogue shots in the episode?

I don't think so. Dialogue was likely dubbed . Since his face is never visible, no point in putting Wells in the suit.

After reading this post, I went back and watched this scene ...:wow: It very well looks like something grabs ( you can see an arm snatching him up it appears) the RF and takes off.

I thought so when I watched it the first time specially because there was a red lightning, but its not true. If you pause the screen at the right time, you will see that RF just stood up, turned and left the place. No other person was there except Barry and RF.

This loser strangely ignored the fact that Wells said "Merry Christmas" by vibrating his vocal chords and his voice was identical to the voice we heard from RF throughout the entire episode.

Maybe he just simply missed it. I missed it, does that make me a loser too? I mean, let's be fair, name calling because he missed an easily missable clue? That's beneath you Shape.

It wasn't easily missable. Did you stop watching the episode early? That's the only way it could have been missed.

Maybe "loser" was too harsh. I'll retract that name and instead call him a silly goose.

In the comics the RV can imitate other people's voices (i.e. Barry's) and I guess other speedsters have most likely also this ability. Maybe Well is not the actual RV but someone who copys him for his own reasons, thus the voice. Well it is a possiblity anyway.

I think it is just too obvious for Well to be RV, I don't think the writers would give such a bit revelation already way. I think it is more likely to be a red hering.

Nope, watched the whole thing front to back, didn't notice it. It is possible I wasn't paying attention at that particular second, but that would mean it was easily missable if that's all it takes to miss it. Maybe I'll go back and watch it again and see.

I wouldn't say it's easily missable, it's a separate scene, not just a particular second. But it's the last scene, so if you switch the channel or turn-off the TV before that, yeah you can miss it. Or maybe they have a commercial break just before showing the last scene, I don't know how it works... Otherwise, it's the "twist" ending of the episode, so I assume you just stopped watching at that point.

In the fight sequence between RF and Flash at the end of episode 9....RF takes off Flash's mask to reveal Barry's face. Does anyone else find this odd? If we are led to believe that the RF is the same RF that is fighting an unsuited Barry at the start of episode 9 then why would he need to unmask Barry later? Rf already knows who Flash is. Also, during the beginning fight...RF constantly talks to Barry ("you know who I am") but in the end fight RF doesn't speak to Barry at all. Any thoughts?

My guess is he removed it by accident.

Probably just to degrade him even further than he already had. RF isn't the nicest of guys.

Very true. So much that he was taunting Barry during the first fight but I was surprised he didn't taunt or talk to him at all during the last fight.

Didn't he say at the end, "Our race is not yet done, see you soon Flash."

Yes he does say that before running away. Never says anything else during the fight.

So I'm not two knowledgeable on Flash canon so can someone fill me in on how Wells could be RF when there was clearly another RF in the episode...

Are there various RFs in the canon? The only one I'm aware of is Eddie.

Reverse Flash is a time traveller, which allows him to be in two places at the same point in time, Eddie probably isn't a Reverse Flash, and I doubt he ever will be, his connection to RF is probably as an ancestor of RF's.

You should be able to watch it on-demand or online somewhere. The fight scenes are on Youtube.

And they revealed who RF is at the end of the episode...
