Iris and Barry are already better than Smallville Clark and Lois. Barry has told Iris how he feels she can deal with it or not but a least he will no longer pine for her wondering what could have been.

Maybe he's just a Dirty Rotten Scoundrel.

Exactly my point, actually; I thought I was clear on that. :funny: If there were in fact two speedsters at the house, the one that took Barry away was in fact... Barry.

This is probably true, but I still don't understand it. Barry has no need to protect himself because RF needs him to exist. Why not devote every second to saving his mom or getting his dad far away to avoid the frame up?

Barry might not know RF wants him alive and why. Also maybe Barry is thinking that as long as he saves himself, he can always try to change his parents fate later.

I think Barry might figure out RF needs him alive well before that, especially if the show ever gets into a discussion of the speed force.

Ironically, the only way to save his parents would be to never come the Flash in the first place.

Didn't Cisco mention at the end of the episode to Wells that there are 2 RFs?

That means that Wells is one of the RFs and someone else (Eddie's descendant?) is the other RF, right? (I'm just speculating that last bit)

I think you all could benefit from reading Flash: Rebirth and Flashpoint.

I'd add The Flash series that takes place between those 2 stories to the list as well.

No, he said to Joe that seeing the red and yellow speed streaks during the RF/Flash fight made him think there were two speedsters (not two RF's, two speedsters) there when his mother was killed. The other speedster was probably Barry Allen.

I really like how, with Wells, they've integrated the Reverse Flash into Barry's life from the very start of the series -- and from the start of his career as The Flash. His obsession with Barry and connection to his life is very much in line with the characterization of RF from the comics. I love it.

I was watching a few older episodes with my girlfriend while she catches up, and she kept pointing out how he seemed very obsessed, and its stuff that I never caught earlier but makes so much sense now.

I can't wait to rewatch the entire season once it's all said and done and explained.

I love in the pilot how Well's said "Run Barry, run!" which was also said by Henry Allen when Barry's mother was murdered. The use of the line is a lot more interesting (and kinda menacing) now that we know Wells is RF.

Yeah, like in Plastique, Wells says that the device needed to help her hadn't been created "yet," and that just flew by me the first time, but now that we know that he's most likely from the future, it makes so much sense.

So, is the only real reason for why Reverse Flash hates Barry so much because of the feud between their families?

Depends of the incarnation too many time paradoxes

1 he was fan from the future who went to past too meet his idol

2 is the family feud evil twins

best performance from gustin so far. found the sermons he gives near the end of the second half of each episode a bit irritating and forced up to now. This one was seamless. Well done. Very good episode.

He said two speedsters.

The more I think about this, the more I'm inclined to believe Barry isn't the second speedster. Barry seems more than willing to sacrifice his life for others, so it seems odd his concern would be to protect himself as a child. I'm guessing the second is Bart or Jay.

I'm guessing the second is Bart or Jay.

Or it could be Wally trying to stop Nora Allen's murder which could be the starting point of Barry going rogue in the future (if Wells is Barry from the future of course).

There are a lot of assumptions about Wells going on. For one I no longer think he's from the future. I think he's a new character that the writers have given parts of the Zolomon storyline to. What i now theorize is RF(Thawne) killed Barry's mom and has been working with Wells from the beginning. Wells told Joe he lost someone close to him. It would make sense that RF sought him out, promised once he was capable that he'd go back in time and save his wife. I don't even believe Wells knows who the RF is.
That makes so much sense... RF and Wells may be working together, one tries to find a way to save his wife, and the other has a chance to beat up the Flash. We also know that Wells may have found a way to steal the flash's power; so maybe he used it on RF, hence the voice a the end, and is will be trying to steal all of it, and maybe save his wife himself. So for me:
Wells is not RF, just working with him, and hiding the fact that he can walk so no one suspects him
Eddie Thawne wasn't killed because he's the grandfather or whatever of RF, and he needs him to be alive
RF came back in time, because he needed to tell Wells to build the generator and create the Flash, or he (RF) wouldn't exist, as he gave him these powers to look like him. Kinda like a neverending cycle

Best episode the series 10/10
