In the comics Zoom comes from the future and kills Barry's mom in an attempt to make him a better superhero.

Thawne killed Barry's mother to mess with him.

Zolomon was the one that tried to make Wally West a better superhero

Professor Zoom- Thawne
Zoom- Zolomon

Wow! What a fantastic pilot! It was like a movie. I really enjoyed it. :) Can't wait for the show.

If anyone has this... SPILLAGE.... of Berry Allen.... I would love you forever and ever... AND EVER. :woot:

Barry is already one of the most likeable super heroes I've ever seen. Grant did a great job.

really enjoyed this pilot.

Is Harrison Wells a character in the comics? Cuz ya I didn't really get the ending and its starting to bug me lol. This guy goes into the future and does something to make the Flash go missing?

I do get them mixed up

So I just got done watching the pilot. It was freaking cool. This show is gonna be amazing.

OH MY GOD... The newspaper at the end.... Infinite Crisis!!! Also Wayne Tech/Queen Inc merger!!!

Plus Grodd Easter egg. This was full of so much win

Detective West had my favorite lines towards the end of the episode. Made me laugh.

So yeah, that last scene of the pilot....

Keep doing your thing CW, keep doing your thing

What if Eddie Thawne is a misdirect, and he's just an ancestor, and Harrison Wells is really Thawne from the future. Might help explain the newspaper

Wow that was incredible! Much better than I assumed it would be.

loved the stuff with him and Ollie, especially when Ollie goes "cool!". There was a Ferris Air Easter egg which is GL stuff right? Plus the Wayne/Queen merger in the end paper from 2025. I don't really get the whole Wells thing or the Red Sky thing since I'm not a vomic reader so I'm gunna let those play out for me. Can't wait to see this again when it airs.

Oh and if you want to watch it, torrents are your friend.

That's the popular theory.

Rick Cosnett said that Eddie is a genuine nice guy, and things just seem to go well for him. The popular theory is that Wells, his descendant, is changing the timeline so things go great for Thawne. He becomes a star cop, gets the girl of his dreams, that kind of stuff.

I was able to watch the pilot. It was decent. I give it an 8/10. There were a few instances of bad/cheesy dialogue/moments (I found myself rolling my eyes a lot), but overall, I thought it was a solid introduction to the series.

Barry is easily the most likable character. Gustin plays him wonderfully, and possesses an infectious energy that will make you smile every time he's on screen.

Iris is pretty much Laurel done right. Patton also brings a lot of energy to the episode, and remained funny and charming throughout. The only thing I didn't like (and I acknowledge that neither the character nor the actress is at fault for it) was the decision to [BLACKOUT]make her and Thawne an item.[/BLACKOUT]

The supporting cast was okay. Jesse L. Martin was the standout. He has one great scene that will punch the audience in the gut. The villain was forgettable. He had little screen time and was the definition of generic.

Danielle Panabaker was okay; she didn't have much to do. Carlos Valdes (or rather, his character) was slightly less annoying than I thought he would be, but I do mean slightly. Tom Cavanagh had more to do than both, and turned in a decent performance.

Rick Cosnett wasn't in it much. He did okay with what little he was given.

The Oliver Queen cameo was really nice, but very on-the-nose. It was kind of cheesy, to be honest. That said: there is a really nice exchange towards the end of the scene that makes up for it.

All in all, it was a decent pilot, like I said. There were a few really cool easter eggs (one of which you'll spot immediately) and you'll be very likely to turn off your television with a huge smile on your face. I think we've got a winner here.

If I had to give the creative team some advice? Cut back on the cheese. Just a little bit.

Also: if you're into drinking games, invite a few friends over to watch the episode with you and take a shot every time someone utters the word "impossible".

So how did everyone feel with them..

doing somewhat of a small/minor recton in regards to the moments that led to Barry being hit by lightning.

I mean when we saw the scene in "Arrow", Barry was just finishing his phone call with Felicity but it seems like he never really talked with her before entering the lab...and I was kind of surprised that she wasn't mentioned at all when Barry brought up his experiences in Starling City to Iris.

I'm kind of surprised that they felt the need to reshoot some shots of the whole lightning sequence.

As others have mentioned, this pilot could have definitely benefited from having given a special running time..like it being made for 90 minutes as opposed to 60 (commercial time being included in that running time estimate). It really did feel like certain moments were really rushed so that they could make the mark.

Overall, I did still enjoy it...and it's only the first episode of a beginning series. I'm willing to see on where they can grow and evolve from here.

can anyone explain the...

infinite crisis thing? Don't really know anything about it. I've just heard people mention it.

Simply put, [BLACKOUT]Crisis on Infinite Earths is a story which "rebooted" the entirety of the DC comics, reconciling continuity errors from the pre-Crisis era of DC. And, it (as well as subsquent Crises stories dealt with the concept of the DC Multiverse (Earth 1, Earth 2, etc.).

[BLACKOUT]Barry Allen also dies during the crisis and the Flash mantle is passed on to Wally.[/BLACKOUT]

It was ok.

Green Arrow, nightwing, Daredevl, and Punisher are the perfect heroes for TV,

But the Flash, his world and his powers deserve the movie treatment.

Hopefully, the Nikki Finke scoop is real and we get a GL/ Flash team up movie.

On the positive side, it got better as it went along. The first half was too fast, too clunky, and lots of forced humor. The 2nd half was tighhter, more intriguing, cohesive, and intense. Hopefully the show improves like Arrow.

That was AMAZING. I love how they handled the look and the powers, and I'm happy with the acting.

That said: SO MANY EASTER EGGS!
GRODD! FERRIS AIR! THE ****ING CRISIS!

*deep breath* I cannot wait for the season to start.

Enjoyed it a lot

Positives:
+main musical theme
+Great to see all the Flash characters come to life
+A ton of Flash/DC fan-service
+Effects are often great, for both Flash and Weather Wizard
+All the sciencey STAR LABS particle accelerator stuff is intriguing.
+Vibe was surprisingly funny and likable. I was expecting to hate him.
+The tone was appropriate, the jokes hit, and Barry felt like Barry. Love the bit about the pen and the sweater.
+Surprisingly dramatically effective at times.

Negatives:
-Expected level of CW cheese
-typical rushed pilot syndrome.
-Some cheese angles for the superspeed. It didn't bug me very much because of the overall lighter tone though.
-Barry remembering his mom's death during the test run at Ferris Air reminded me of a similar awkward scene in the GL movie (a Berlanti/Johns staple I suppose)

Very excited to watch more.
