Your friend asks way too many questions.

Oh, it's bad to ask questions? Or to discuss a fictional character on a tv show on a forum about said tv show? Then what's the point of this forum?

Yep. I specifically said it's bad to ask questions.

I didn't think you were asking questions, though... Isn't it your friend?

Because?

Does it matter? Me or a friend, I posted the questions. Given the number of Iris fans here, who better to answer those questions?

Last season Iris joined the team. This season she's the leader. Both makes no sense at all. When this is pointed out, racist or sexist or hater is thrown out as the defense yet that still doesn't explain why she's on the team or is the leader. I take it you can't explain it either.

Because? Are you serious right now or just a bad reader? I never said you couldn't ask questions... You implied that I did. Well, i did say it, but in a smart ass form that probably flew over your head.

Wow... you really don't realize I was joking around with you do you? You keep saying "asking for a friend", which is a sarcastic, played out, phrase.

As for the racist, sexist, hater crap... I never said those things to you. But I can explain it....

It's because....

wait for it...

It's the internet.

I didn't realize Mon-El got so much hate on twitter. But yeah, the Iris hate is pretty strong here.

The only Arrowverse character that annoys me is Guardian , but even then, I find him more laughable then a character I hate. I get more mad at weak or lazy writing and storytelling than at fictional characters.

Give me Iris over Bor-El any day.

I didn't know I was supposed to love a character that isn't written in a favorable way. Good to know.

The point is Iris has way too much screen time and that reveals problems that people tend to point out. Some agree and some don't. She is a Mary Sue, upgraded to "leader" with no skills set. That much is clear. Hence why the dislike continues.

Literally no one in here said you have to love Iris. NO ONE. You can hate Iris for all eternity for all I care. We just said to find other things to talk about in this thread. The hate in here has gone far beyond any intellectual discourse and most certainly qualifies as beating a dead horse. You all are saying nothing you haven't said 10 million times, and saying the same thing over and over only serves to deter people from attempting any genuine discussion here, as you can see multiple testimonies to on the previous page.

So just...drop Iris in this thread for now. It is officially considered a derailing topic. A mention of her here and there while discussing other things is fine. But if you're just coming in here to rant about her, go elsewhere. Feel free to whine about her to your heart's content in the Iris thread. Complain about whatever she did to annoy you in this week's episode in that episode's thread. But there are plenty of people who watch this show who would love to discuss other things about it if they didn't come in here only to see the same Iris bashing going on for weeks on end. So for now I say, keep the Iris talk to the Iris thread and relevant episode threads, and leave this thread for the OTHER topics surrounding the show.

Iris has been told she's doing something badly and the show have treated that as legit criticism, she was shown to fail in Girls night Out at saving that guy and had to be saved by Killer Frost and fail at convincing Ralph, and her focus hasn't been much, particularly in the last 4 episodes. I don't think I would describe her as a mary sue.

Take it to the Iris thread guys, I'm not kidding. Any other posts about Iris in here, I will delete.

Ah! I'm sorry. I thought the post was about Iris hate. Thanks for not deleting my post.

No problem. :)

And the Iris hate is the cause of this decision, but it wouldn't be right to say "you're only allowed to post positive things about Iris here." This isn't an "Iris Positivity Thread," after all. So therefore all Iris talk must be banished elsewhere.

As long as it's not... wait... wrong thread. And show.

I would made that mistake too. :D

Phew, glad to be wrong then.

Why is Iris on the team? Why is she the leader? Anyone have answers to that? Asking for a friend.

We'll never know the answers to that.

So, Iris criticism should be in the ep threads while pro-Iris is allowed in the general thread. Got it.

Speaking of, Ralph has been the saving grace of this season, but when he started down the path of broodiness in True Colors, then he needs to go, and I don't mean joining the Legends. I'm not here for Barry or Ralph or anyone going all navel-contemplating. Also, while I was happy that Joe won't be alone anymore, Cecile has outstayed her welcome. She's now as forced and lazy plot device as the other love interests in the CWverse between her baby and powers. Who asked for this? Any of this?

Yeah that part was weird. Thought it was just me. Eventually people are going to get tired of this show if it doesn't at least have an idea what its doing. Reduced screen time of characters that contribute nothing of value are a start. Remaining optimistic.

Don't even.........

When Supergirl fans won't see another episode for 9 more weeks....don't even whine.

Apparently some did not read Flickchick's warning.....so, if your post was just deleted...you might want to go back and check out the warning...because it was not heeded by you.

Well, someone is clearly not able to handle some critique, which is what I did expect, so no surprise there. Nothing of my post did break any rules, I did not insult, said something hateful, sexist, demeaning or anything of that kind. You clearly just don't like when someone points out that what you're doing is pretty shady and without any base, but sure, why not. You're an admin and apparently that kind that makes uncomfortable posts they would rather not face just go away. Good for you.

Right, because talking about a part of the Flash show has no place in the general discussion thread about the Flash show... the general discussion thread... general...

...so much smarts it must hurt.

For those who may actually enjoy a superhero show and not a soap opera, Legends is returning on Monday. Who knows, maybe we'll get another appearance by our fluffy, blue lord and savior. :woot:

To keep this on topic, I just hope the finale doesn't end with Devoe nabbing Barry's body, but I wouldn't put it pass them.

I just read your post Kelly deleted and I think you misread my initial warning. We are banishing all talk of Iris, both positive and negative, from THIS thread, not the board. Because she has officially become a derailment topic for a "general discussion" thread. That is, it's part of our job to ensure that healthy discussion keeps flowing on these boards, and when discussions start hitting a wall or going in circles, that's when when we step in and tell people to move on. Especially when it gets so bad that it actually deters regular posters from coming in here at all. And when people refuse to move on, that's when we banish the topic to a more appropriate thread. Which is where we are at now. Because the only thread on the Flash board that should be so completely dominated by talk of Iris West for weeks on end is...the IRIS WEST thread.

This is a well-worn practice on the Hype. If you don't believe me, go back to look at the Superman boards pre-Man of Steel. You'll see the mods back then were forced to make separate Henry Cavill (BEFORE he was cast as Superman, mind you), Brandon Routh and Tom Welling threads and banish talk of them in other threads because they were such fan faves that every casting thread and general discussion thread inevitably turned into an endless Routh vs. Cavill vs. Welling debate that never went anywhere other than resulting in posters sniping at each other. So yes, sometimes we banish topics from main threads when they become overbearing and fruitless to the the spirit of discussion.

If you think that's stupid, fine, but either adhere to it or find a board to post on that's more your speed.

To keep this on topic, I just hope the finale doesn't end with Devoe nabbing Barry's body, but I wouldn't put it pass them.
Maybe not in the finale but I could definitely see them doing that later in the season.

I think I made a post earlier, but it wasn't about that, so I'm not sure why it was deleted, if I'm not misremembering me posting it. Did I?

Well, thanks for taking the time to reading what I wrote. And it seems indeed that I misunderstand your initial post, that doesn't change that I feel that your are cherry-picking when it comes to what is allowed to post on a general discussion board simply because you don't like the topic that is discussed. That is not really the idea of a board in general, especially one that is about a show in general. As I said, write in the title that no 'insert name of person here since I don't want this post to be deleted again' seeing that otherwise the title is pretty much misleading. Maybe we should start calling the woman in question "she who must not be named"? ;)

That's fine by me, though, as you've said, there are other boards about, and I'm really only here for the entertainment.

That's the trouble with suddenly introducing new rules like that, they probably don't really know themselves just yet what is 'allowed' and what isn't.
