That's probably what he means. They're making it too obvious he might be reverse flash, like they want us to suspect him.

I suspect that we are getting both versions in the show.

Harrison Wells is not a comic character because the producers created him specifically for the series, something that they unequivocally made clear. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Why does it have to be a big secret? If they did a movie about Flash with Reverse Flash as the villain, Eobard would be introduced within the first two hours. They don't need to draw out Reverse Flash's identity forever, they can just get on with it, without worrying about what's deemed as too obvious.

I actually think it is supposed to keep you guessing, since they have Eddie Thawne but then we have Harrison Wells whose from the future and lying and keeping secrets.

^ Except Harrison Wells isn't a comic-book character, and therefore isn't going to be the Reverse Flash, regardless of what his motives and role are ultimately revealed as being.

Miranda Tate wasn't a comic book character, either.

I don't think he'll be reverse flash either, but if I'm wrong I'm wrong. What are your theories on him?

When Wells turns out not to be anything other than what the producers are saying he is, you'd better be willing to accept some "I told you sos" from me.

I had thought he was going to turn out to be Reverse Flash until the producers unequivocally shut that theory down, but I do think it's fairly likely that he's going to turn out to be the season's "Big Bad", which would be in keeping with him being the series' archetypal equivalent to Arrow's Malcolm Merlyn and Slade Wilson.

I give up. I don't know what it's going to take to convince you people that the producers' statement that he's not a comic book character is the unequivocal literal truth, but I'm going to stop trying.

There's two versions?

I don't read comics so I don't know who that is. Can you explain?

He character from crisis on infinite earth.

Pariah is sent to dying worlds, forced to watch their destruction. He cant die..

If he doesn't turn out to be Reverse Flash you don't have to say I told you so to me, since I don't even think he is. And I would actually rather he be a misguided good guy or such instead of a bad guy. It seems everyone thinks he's evil or whatnot.

@luis4u: Thanks for the info!

Doesn't it seem more likely that Eddie will be Reverse Flash? I know he's called Eddie on the show, and it says "Eddie" on the CW wiki page, but if you search Eddie Thawne, in the results list it says this:

Eddie Thawne - Flash CW Wiki
flash-cw.wikia.com › wiki/Eddie_Thawne
Detective Eobard "Eddie" Thawne is a police detective of the Central City Police Department.

It shows the CW page naming him Eobard even though the actual page doesn't say this. I wonder if the results page references an old entry into the Wiki that has since been edited to remove the name. Also with Rick Cosnett saying that Barry and Eddie are "The opposite of each other," it seems quite likely.

A large majority think Eddie's a red herring and Wells is the real reverse flash. Like how they did on arrow, where people thought Tommy Merlyn was the dark archer or whatever, but it turned out to be his dad Malcolm Merlyn.

Me though? I'm kinda rooting on Wells being somewhat of a good guy or at least really Team Flash, while Eddie really is reverse flash.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Maybe Barry is the Reverse Flash.

Wells is attempting to stop whatever corrupts him from turning into the Flash on the newspaper.

But in doing so creates the Thawne version of Zoom.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yeah, I don't like the idea of Wells being Reverse Flash. The mystery behind his character is so intriguing that I want it to be something we haven't seen before.

Weather it's him or not, it's already been played different and is still intriguing.
And the end of ep. 1 and .2 were still surprising to most.
Even if their hands been played, and it's him, acting like everyone saw it coming, now after the reveals, is a bit disingenuous.

And if it is a villain, who
"replicates" the situation to in effect create the hero, so he can "study him ...like a rat in a maze", it's still a great villain. ;)

And how and if the guy they are calling "Eddie", or anyone else, ends up in the RF costume, is still a mystery.

Also looks like he's wearing a ring.
Does that mean the costume from the "future" ejects from the ring???:woot:
