I just saw an image on Instagram of the Reverse Flash, similar to the images of Atom and Arrow that have been revealed with the smokey background. I just wish I knew where to find it online.

Edit: it's on the twitter page for the show

Just saw it on Facebook.

Darn, I did not even think to check there. I only saw the cut version on the other sites.

It really is an awesome suit. Funny enough, I was listening to a podcast where one of the designers for Arrow was talking about how they came up with the black fade in for Roy's suit. It was basically because they didn't want him being confused with the Flash, and because the Red could come off as too bright, so they added the black for some balance. I 'm pretty sure the same applied for this suit because the yellow could be very bright, but with the black it works well.

I wonder if the Reverse-Flash suit is any indication of what the Flash's suit will evolve into.

My favorite thing about RF's suit is that it looks like it's been through a lot, and has a few more "futuristic" tweaks than Barry's does.

Has anyone ever noticed before that the lighting bolts on the belt of the Reverse Flash look like a W.... the W of Wells? I guess we now know who the Reverse Flash is! ;)

I'm glad they finally released an official image (that wasn't a manip) of the Reverse Flash. Looks great to see the two Flashes next to each other...

I think one of the things that works best about the Reverse Flash suit is that they didn't try to explain the yellow at all. They just made the thing ****ing yellow, and nobody has had to ask why anybody would wear a yellow suit. It just fits with the world that they're building. No explanations needed.

I'm pretty sure some asked and the conversation went like this:

Guy 1:
Why's the suit yellow?

Guy 2:
Who cares?

:funny:

Bystander 1: Why does he wear yellow?
Bystander 2: Bet you it's because he's a coward!

*yellow blur and Bystander 2 slumps over, dead*

Bystander 1: *looking at Bystander 2's body* Well I think yellow ROCKS!

Did they ever explain the red for Flash?

Yeah, I get kinda tired of that, how everything needs to be explained and have a realistic/rational basis.

I really got into Star Trek TNG as a kid. That show tried to explain everything and that is cool to me. Why something is a certain color though is a little beneath everybody.

Well, that was kind of a part of the Trek franchise from the start. This fanaticism about "teh realizm" seems to be a more recent phenomenon in the comic book universe.

Didn't Cisco say he originally made the suit for firefighting purposes?

Yeah, but that doesn't really explain the red. I was just confused about explaining the color for RF when the same wasn't done for Flash really. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if any superhero costumes colors have really been explained in TV/films outside of Iron Man.

Oliver's color of choice was explained. Kind of. Barry speculated that it was an homage to the environment he trained in before becoming The Arrow.

Helena specifically asked Oliver to include purple in her costume's design because she's fond of the color.
