Cool thanks! Let's see whether I can get this to work.
I feel the same way. Actually, I prefer that they don't be together. Iris's sudden attraction to Barry after episode 9 seems very forced.
Yes, it is really dissapointing, Iris and Barry are one of the few coupls in DC comics I really, really like and they have to mess it up with writing them in a very unfavorable way in regard to their potential romantic relationship and they chose two actors who don't have much of any chemistry when it comes to romance. I am not the biggest Iris fan but I like her well enough. Every time I have seen her "realizing" her feeling for Barry, though, she comes over as a very stupid and unlikable person, at least to me. I think they really messed this one up.
Well there are some people who theorized that Eobard had plastic surgery to make himself look like the "original" Wells.
I think his healing powers wouldn't allow him to do so. Maybe he would be able to change his looks for some time while depowerd but as soon as his powers kick back in, he would change back to his original looks.
Well we do know that he has been spying on Wells, and has been spying on Barry as a result, so he might have been doing that anyways.
Wells needs Barry Alive for now in order to get back in time, so future!Barry would know that Barry is safe around Wells for the time being. Wells is also providing technology and training for Barry, so he's still valuable for Barry to become a better hero.
I still think that he would try to spare his younger self to go through all of this just for a mean to an end. The future Barry can't know that Wells wants to give his younger self powers and train him and that he isn't in danger for a while. To the future Barry Well is a complete psycopath, I doubt that he would let such a person around his younger self even for just a short time.
I don't know whether you are familiar with the comics but there is a really good story about how Eobard killed Iris and later Barry's mom (like on the show). Even if just the later one happened on the show, it shows Barry what a person Eobard is. I think he would be much more concerned about his younger self due to that.
Perhaps. It's also possible that he doesn't want the team to know just yet, because if they find out who Wells really is, and Wells finds out they know, than the gloves are off. If he keeps it a secret for the time being, while putting the paranoia in Barry's head, then Barry wouldn't be shocked when he finds out the truth during the right time (which is apparently is on Sunday).
To me this seems like a much too conveluted way to try and help his younger self. Why not just simply tell him? I mean, by now Barry knows that there are pretty messed up things out there and that time travelling is possible. Barry likes Wells very much, that is true, but I don't think that he is blind to his mentor being possibly evil. The last episode made it already obvious that he has doubts in this regard.
Plus the trailer for the new episode implies that time travel has it's drawbacks, and interfering too much might cause some anomalies or something.
Definitely, time travelling is a *****! X)
You don't want to mess with it. Usually much more problems arrise than you could ever solve with going back in time. Barry, the future one, is likely aware of that, especially if it causes him to get stuck in the past and his mother to be killed. But there is still no reason why he would not interfere with Wells doing as "Wells" is obviously already messing with the timeline.
That's possible, although other candidates would be Simon Stagg, and maybe the original Wells, assuming Eobard took his place instead of creating a new identity.
I would go with Wells, I don't think that Simon Stagg would be that decomposed after just a couple of months? He is buried directly in earth, so the process probably would have been sped up but I don't think that it would work that quickly.
