I know. It doesn't. make. sense.

At least Ronnie's story thread made sense.

Henry leaving is just NONSENSE. It makes him look bad actually. You're just gonna leave your kid, after you already haven't been there for him for years? Instantly unlikeable, and thats heartbreaking.

I thought the same thing about henry but I remember a rumor or reading somewhere last year that the actor doesn't want to be on the show a lot because he starred in the 90's show and wants Grant to shine on his own. if that's true then his line to Barry about can you really do this with me here makes sense as a wink.

I actually thought Ronnie's thing made no sense what so ever and more of a cheap way to write him out of the show real fast.

I really have no issue with Henry leaving. I wasn't expecting that he'd become a series regular, once out of jail. The idea that he'd become part of Team Flash, to help his son with crime fighting, was something I couldn't really see.

As for money issues, I'd imagine that he'd be compensated for being wrongly imprisoned. He spent 14 years for a murder he didn't commit. You'd think the city would cough up some money as an apology. I can see him relocating to coast city, occasionally making an appearance like in the first Season, when Barry goes to visit him.

My bought a exactly. It was stupid although they probably just didn't want to pay him? It's not like he's a huge actor though so I have no idea

I dont think its a money issue, I think the writers were thinking that Barry having two dads on the show would be hard to write and Henry really wouldnt have a role to fill on the show especially with the cast getting so big. Which, honestly, is understandable but they still handled his exit very poorly.

Exactly, other than the plot point of Barry being motivated to stop the man who changed his life, Henry Allen didn't really have a purpose. I still expect the occasional cameo and pep talk when Barry needs it, but it makes no sense for him to be a regular, with a cast that's already growing.

Does anybody pay any attention to producer statements any more? Henry Allen left Central City, but he didn't leave Barry's life.

John Wesley Shipp remains a recurring guest star and will be seen as many times this season as he was last season.

I have one thing against the series, as much as I love it.
When Wally asked Hartley or S.T.A.R. Labs for help in his comic series, he still did his thinking on his own, without undermining the roles of the folks helping him.
Comic book Barry mostly devised ways to beat the supervillains on his own.
This Barry is too dependent on his allies in S.T.A.R. Labs to make plans for him, he never thinks on his own.

Did Team Flash really KILL Atom Smasher???

Is it just a matter of the writers not knowing what to do with metahumans? I thought they would've come up with something better after they basically went all Guantanamo last season. But killing off villains (especially ones who would become JLS members) is probably worse.

Gold jacket, green jacket, who gives a ****?

Enjoyed the premiere. Can't wait for more Jay Garrick and Barry working together. Can't wait for Killer Frost too. Ronnie's exit was a bit unfortunate but Robbie wanted to be in movies. John Wesley Shipping is definitely recurring. He's like Barry's Jor-El for emotional pep talks.

Anyone else think Ronnie Raymond is on Earth-2? To stop the singularity Firestorm had to split in half. When they did Professor Stein was caught by Barry while Ronnie ended up on the other side of the singularity which is probably Earth-2.

I highly doubt Ronnie's dead. If anything his storyline will probably linked to the whole earth-2 aspect of this season

Yeah, that's what I assumed. We have to remember that at the moment, no one on the show knows about Earth 2, so they assume he's dead. It gives the writers an easy way to bring him back if they ever choose to.

I was thinking that during the season premier. Sure, he needs the team for support. He can't do it alone. BUT he's the Flash. He should be able to beat the villains on his own sometimes. Through his own intelligence, or his own strength.

The last thing this season needs is another "Ronnie's dead but he's not really dead" storyline.

Central City should just build an official metahuman prison. There you go. Problem solved.
